The more I think about it, the more I realize that anti-Semitism is essentially born out of feelings of jealousy of Jews. Its main proponents historically have been the medieval Christian priest, and in modern times, the White nationalist who wants to celebrate Europe’s pagan heritage. This is obviously because of the success of Judaism in influencing Western morality and even spirituality. After all, both Christianity and Islam are rooted in the Jewish Bible and its radical notion of worshiping one creator God instead of multiple flawed “deities” of a pantheon. The stories we read and tell out children exemplify this point. People read stories of the Hebrew Bible to their children, about Moses and the Exodus for example. Virtually no one tell their children the legends of Greek or Norse mythology. It is because the stories and narratives of Judaism are much more compelling and meaningful than those of European paganism. The heritage of Hellenism, which influenced the Renaissance, sought to celebrate the human form and visual arts, but it simply could not compete with the inner satisfaction human beings derived from monotheistic Judaic spirituality. The inferiority of ideas that originated in ancient Europe which nevertheless produced powerful even vicious civilizations as compared to that of the Jews, a tiny Semitic tribe of the Near East, must have infuriated those who took pride in their European heritage. In modern times, the immense success of Zionism in creating a thriving State of Israel has always been a cause of jealousy for those Europeans who saw their own countries spiral into the abyss and lose their once dominant positions.
