There are some very strange people who label themselves Christian

Right-wing prepper pastor Jim Bakker interviewed televangelist Paula White, who is one of President Trump’s key spiritual advisers, on his television program today, where she declared that opposition to the president is opposition to God and explicitly praised Trump for not sounding or acting presidential.

“Thank goodness,” she said. “In other words, he’s not a polished politician. In other words, he’s authentically—whether people like him or not, he’s been raised up by God because God says that He raises up and places all people in places of authority. It is God that raises up a king, it is God that sets one down and so when you fight against the plan of God, you’re fighting against the hand of God.”

Later in the broadcast, when White declared that Christians “were sent here to take over,” Bakker excitedly agreed, asserting “that’s why we have the president we have!”

Who Is Paula White, Trump’s Spiritual Adviser

Televangelist Paula White has a few things in common with the president-elect.

The preacher made a name for herself on television — much like Donald Trump — and both have used controversial, nontraditional business practices that have been the subject of government inquires. White, like Trump, is on her third marriage, this time to Journey rocker Jonathan Cain, and both are boosted by wealth and celebrity.

So it’s perhaps no surprise that White is Trump's spiritual adviser — and has been for more than a decade.

One might begin to think that there are some on the Christian Right who would like to see a Christian monarcy replace our present representative democracy.

Who honestly gives a **** what Jim ****ing Bakker has to say about anything?

I think it is within the realm of possibility that Donald Trump was raised up by a deity and sent to America to change our destiny. I just differ on which supernatural deity it was that sent him and that he serves.

No honest Christian could ever approve of many of the actions of Donald Trump. I don't mean that as a political statement, but rather a statement on how so many of his actions defy the tenets of Christian teachings. And the idea that opposing him politically is tantamount to opposing God is ludicrous.

Bingo! Trump is about as much of a true christian as the Pope is jewish. It's really upsetting to know how so many people automatically link being a republican with being christian or religious. Not true at all. My grandparents were devout democrats and also devout christians. I'm a devout agnostic who votes republican more than democrat but I'm no longer committed to any political party. The only way I tie religion with politics is I think both are full of crap.

This thread is as good an example of Biblical illiteracy as you are likely to find. This is what Bakker is getting at:

Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God's servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God's wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God's wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.

-Romans 13:1-8

In other words, follow the law and pay your taxes. If you don't, you're going to get into trouble.

I had never heard of this Bakker character. Investigation has revealed that he is either insane or a money grabbing fraud.

And now he throws the religious right a bone...

Even if the pastor is correct, here in America we have the right to oppose both Trump and God if we want. There is free speech in this country. Conservatives ought to be fighting for America and the Constitution and not strictly for fascism such as this. I'm a Republican but Jim Bakker is a crackpot.

Who honestly gives a **** what Jim ****ing Bakker has to say about anything?

After disgracing himself Jim Bakker is desperate to regain a following. He thinks hitching a ride on the Trump movement is his best chance.

Well he could be right, if they are simple minded enough to fall for trumps con game they will fall for his as well...

Jim Bakker Says God Will Punish You For Making Fun Of Him

One day, you’re going to shake your fist in God’s face. And you’re going to say, ‘God, why didn’t you warn me?’ He’s gonna say, ‘You sat there and you made fun of Jim Bakker all those years. I warned you, but you didn’t listen.

Cthulhu seems a likely choice.

If one takes the Bible literally (and regards Revelation as prophecy), there will in fact one day be a Christian Monarchy on Earth during the Millennium (under the rule of Jesus Christ himself).

If they want a Christian monarch, they've already failed with Trump. His Christianity is as thin as his spray tan.

Matthew 7:15-20
15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.
