People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood[W:499]

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

Off topic. You are trying to change the subject. Should that woman be compared to terrorists or not?

Oh, definitely.

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

Why? What exactly is she doing that equates to terror?

Aiding terrorists by spreading their propaganda, and radicalizing non Muslim Americans to conduct terrorist attacks on innocent Muslim Americans.

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

Look, as off-base as this thread is, I'll admit that the left has a problem with specific advocacy turning into a generalized political correctness. However, you seem to have an overactive imagination here. Islam is not the monster factory you pretend it is. The majority of Muslims DON'T pose a threat to you and I and, somehow, despite your paranoia, find a way to interpret the Koran that does not manifest as violence.

Nobody is saying you can't criticize Islam, if there is a specific passage that offends you, but to lump all of Islam into one violent box is to distort reality. When you do that, when you form an argument that is hysterical and hyperbolic, you are acting like the Muslim fanatics. True, you're not actively murdering Muslims like the fanatics do but you're head is in the same place. If you were to act upon your fears and ignorance, the result would be no different than when they do it.

So, I think the resistance from the left to your "idea" is the same resistance rational people present to all fanaticism. It is a desire for you to appreciate the nuance in this complex issue and not just create straw men and incite bigotry. Our enemies are totalitarian religious conservatives and we have a lot of them here too. We can begin our fight against their radicalism by acknowledging our own and defeating it at home. If we are no better than them, who are we to talk?

By you, or people like you, selecting the religious conservatives? The way to beat them here is political, not violent. So now we stop them and ignore the violence, and probably the more important ignore the right to free speech.

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

That would be a lie.

Approximately 1.6 BILLION Muslims do not engage in terror.

This thread is talking about the ones that do and where they get their ideas, and the right to voice that opinion without accusations of any kind, let alone the threat of violence. What problem do you really have with this?

She is a FGM victim, she was to be married to stranger, her life has been threatened by terrorists, are none of those things repulsive to you?

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

It is about time for the final solution to the Muslim question, eh?

It is about time you stopped saying that.

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

The SPLC is a left wing Islamic puppet. No need to call it a hate site.

Leaving the Netherlands after quitting its Parliament in disgrace

Exactly what did she do? It says she left in disgrace and does not say what she did? Why. Do you have any idea what she did?
West should “defeat” Islam and that “we are war with Islam.”

News flash, many people feel the same way, are they to be silenced too?
she said that Islam was “the new fascism” and a “destructive, nihilistic cult

There are viable reasons she and others think that. Those reasons are being labeled as hate. That just is not the case.

This thread is about broad-brushing a religion based on what a fraction of a percentage do.

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

Sometimes I read through a thread like this and wonder what twilight zone I have entered.

1. Coldjoint seems to be the target of the left and right because he is arguing for free speech re criticism of Islam. Nobody yet seems to want to deal with the thesis of the OP.

2. Fledermaus sides with the anti-free speech group by saying that criticism of Islam makes it easier for Islamic extremists to radicalize others to become Islamic extremists.

3. I agree there should be intellectual honesty regarding most Muslims who are not violent or dangerous people and all should not be tarred with the terrorist brush. Out of nothing more than intellectual honesty we should acknowledge that most Muslims are not terrorists. But. . .

4. . . .at this point in history, I am also seeing justification for calling Islamofacist Terrorists or Islamofacist Extremists what they are and acknowledging that this seems to be a pervasive and all encompassing condition involving Islam only. Most Muslims are not terrorists. But most terrorists operating on a large scale are Muslim.

5. Yes there unChristian Christians who do bad things, most commonly due to mental illness. But you don't see Christians as a rule out trying to radicalize and organize other Christians to commit violence, destruction, and mayhem against the innocent for no other reason than the others are not Christian or that somebody criticized Christians. And criticizing Christians--all Christians--even in the most hateful ways does not seem to provide fuel for violent acts by Christians. Ditto Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, or other major religions. At this point in History it is only those who claim the tenets of Islam organizing and committing terrorism on a massive scale.

What is it about Islam that creates such polarization of views both on their side and those who are apologists for them? Should it be illegal or socially taboo to speak any criticism of Islam? Do those proposing that policy honestly believe that the terrorists will then put down their weapons and go home and be violent no more?

Re: People Who Talk Are Bad, People Who Shoot Misunderstood

Why?

You said it was about time. And you said Islam should go away.

And what does "final solution" mean to people? You are, and have been, implying I support genocide. It is not true, and I have asked you to stop it before. OK?

Well how are you going to rid the world of Islam?

Just like the other two threads....

No, I side with people who don't want more Islamic Radicals because of hate speech spewed by Islamophobes.

Please look back where I stated discussion of RADICAL ISLAM should continue.

Replace the word "Muslim" with the word "Jew", and go back and read your last 500 posts and threads...

That is not the subject. Why are people called haters for criticizing Islam, and silenced is the topic. If you cannot understand that why are you here?

Marvelous contribution there.

Sad historical note. The Nazi SS employed a large number of Muslims during the war. They even has a distinct fez with death's head device.

You never explain so others have to fill in the gaps....

How are you going to rid the world of Islam?

Not at all. Can you separate different issues about Islam and free speech from your obsession of derailing threads about Islam. You are trying to kill any discussion, it could not be any more clear.

Not at all. Can you separate different issues about Islam and free speech from your obsession of saying the same thing over and over? It doesn't look like it.

You didn't get the irony.

This thread is just more broad brushing.
