I've addressed the topic. Fully. Then I speculated on the motive of the poster. I can gather from your anger that you in fact you DONT have a history of reporting 'the news' when it comes to Muslim Terrorist attacks and that you only seem to care about Christian terrorists. Like I said...speaks as clearly as your shrill hatred you offer in response.

I doubt he thinks anything so mindless, and neither do I. I will keep my views about the role of the core tenets of Islam in terrorist violence to myself. I will say only that I--and many other people who have analyzed the situtation--believe very strongly that an excessive concern with currying favor with the world's Muslims poses a serious threat to our national security by encouraging many of them to think we are weak, and to act accordingly.

As to these plotters, a person's religious beliefs do not determine whether federal terrorism laws apply to him. If these three had good reason to believe the people they were plotting against were violating federal laws, they should have contacted the nearest FBI office and told them what they knew. There is no place for vigilance committees where government agencies are available to enforce the law.

They get all angry when they perceive that muslims don't call out the violent muslims..yet....they don't call out the violent christians.

Fact is, there are bad people all over the world who want to kill in the name of their god. You want to think its only one religion.

How so? I read the OP and very specifically applauded the law enforcement efforts that uncovered the planned attack by Christian terrorists. You claim 'defensive' from that? Thats very intriguing. Can you clarify how acknowledging the great law enforcement effort in opposition to a Christian terrorist group is 'defensive'?

The fact anyone would even suggest that no more violence is being done around the world in the name of Islam than of any other major religion is at least good for a laugh. You seem to be willing to grasp at any straw in order to soft-pedal the threat of Islamist jihad.

BTW, I am not christian or muslim, I consider both to be really silly. But, I think that domestic terrorism against either of them is vile and it should result in prison.

How sad. My GF's ex husband is a crazy zealot, he actually flew to England to stand outside of mosques to scream at and attempt to proselytize.

I think this shows how much we are like our enemies. Cells of organized paranoia exist here too. If, by some stroke of bad luck, our secular democracy is successfully torn down by our own version of the Taliban, Afghanistan and the US could look a lot more alike. Tribalism, religious fanaticism and violence would be as common. Religion is famous for quickly filling the vacuum left by rational governance and providing a less rational order. It seems like there's always going to be ten percent of the people who just want to destroy anything good.

Faith may, in fact, be our evolutionary heritage but it doesn't have to control our future. If the moderates ever stand up for human values, we may have a chance at opposing the fanatics. Yet, as long as faith remains a metaphor for no standard of thought or action, that's not likely.
