North Korea sentenced American journalist Laura Ling (sister of Lisa Ling) and Euna Lee to 12 years hard labor. North Korean hard labor camps are very harsh. Women inmates are raped by guards, beatings and executions are common place.

The Obama administration said it would pursue "all possible channels" to win the release of Laura Ling and Euna Lee, reporters for former Vice President Al Gore's San Francisco-based Current TV media venture.

There are fears Pyongyang is using the women as bargaining chips as the U.N. debates a new resolution to punish the country for its defiant May 25 atomic test and as North Korea seeks to draw Washington into direct negotiations.

Below is a link to a petition. I seriously doubt that this petition will do any good but its better than doing nothing.

Bad. Really bad for them. They may be released in th emanner the article says ..or not.

With Obama being so weak Kim is pushing all the buttons and has little reason to believe the apologists will do anything but make noise. Situation is getting worse in general and lurching towards a war.

Seeing their faces makes it all the more unbearable, but you know, as journalists, they knew the risks. I praise their courage to go in anyway and try to bring information to the outside... but if caught, there is virtually no hope.

I just hope that they accomplished something good during their time. By the time they get out (assuming they haven't been murdered or have committed suicide), they will be messed up for life. Hopefully the NK government will be disbanded before then.

Stupid U.S. government, not letting private interests destabilize and bring down that regime, which is only able to stay in power through a massive "Americans are about to invade and enslave us" fear-mongering propaganda campaign.

All governments prop each-other up. All kings are foes of all the men they rule!
