During what was described as “tense” testimony to the House Intelligence Committee on Thursday, Lewandowski was said to have followed the pattern of other Trump campaign staff — like Hope Hicks and Steve Bannon — who have declined to answer questions about conversations with the then-candidate, even though events that occurred during the campaign are not covered by presidential executive privilege, according to reporters who spoke to lawmakers. ...

Lewandowski leaves House Intel after roughly 3 hours, tells reporters he answered relevant questions.

Schiff says Lewandowski refused to answer questions about conversations with Trump, the Trump Tower meeting and the firing of Comey, and that Dems have asked for a subpoena.
lewandowski insists he was not instructed by the white house to refuse to answer questions the intel committee wanted answers to
however, there does seem to be a pattern of non-responsiveness by lewandowski, hope kicks, and steve bannon to avoid answering direct questions about their involvements with tRump
why would that be?

Mueller Time?

Because answering questions from people with a political, rather than a legal, agenda is suicide.

I suspect that the GOP leadership has told these people not to answer questions and the GOP who control these committees will refuse to subpoena them or to put them in jail for refusing to answer questions under subpoena. This has been going on since the start. When it comes to serious questions, all of the Trump have refused to answer.

It is also illegal if you have been subpoenaed. The problem is that the GOP who controls these committees have gone along with allowing them not to answer.

Probably a lot to that, and it's probably better for Mueller if these guys don't testify, and have it leaked, which should be assumed frankly. As long as he talks to Mueller, I'm not that worried/bothered. Besides the House investigation is a joke at this point. I don't care what their findings are - the HPSCI has taken a wrecking ball to its credibility, blame who you want for that.

So the 4th Amendment goes out the window if you ever spoke to a Russian and now the 5th Amendment goes out the window if you got subpoenaed. For some people that kind of thing might seem a little vexing.

Easy E said it better.

There's an easy fix. The Republican chairman of the House Intelligence Committee has subpoena power to compel Lewandowski's testimony and documents. Thing is, he won't use it and the committee Democrats are spitting-nails furious about that.

Why won't they answer questions? What are they hiding? It has to be something.

that can't be it, tres
because you know this investigation is a nothingburger and a witch hunt
for a bunch with nothing to hide from an investigator they sure seem to be uncooperative with the investigation

In the spirit of George Washington, they can not tell a lie...

So they won't speak at all...

excellent correlation
when i think of steve bannon, hope hicks, and corey lewandowski, i too, 'see' their george washington-like qualities
