While speaking during the Texas legislative session, representative Tom Alvin (R) Altruria, dropped something unexpected on the House floor. Upon picking up the item, cameras caught a glimpse of what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette.
And, of course, he was speaking against lowering the penalties for possession of marijuana. why is it that many who speak against something, whether it is weed, gay sex, or whatever, actually do these things behind closed doors? In the case of representative Altruria, there is a very good reason:
Having our police focus their time and effort on keeping these dangerous criminals away from society is a major priority, not to mention the jobs we are able to create in the prison and judicial system in general. Without jailing these people, we could be looking at creating more unemployment.
That's right. He has whored himself out to the prison industrial complex in Texas, which is the plantation system that has pretty much replaced slavery here. A lot of money is being earned off the cheap labor prisoners provide, and it is in the best interests of those getting rich off this system of servitude to have as many people in prison as possible, whether or not they really deserve it. And, of course, they are dependent on whores like rep. Altruria to keep the system going.
