Jeb Bush bashes Grover Norquist's anti-tax pledge

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Friday he opposes Grover Norquist’s tax pledge because it asks politicians to “outsource your principles and convictions” — a comment Norquist calls “humiliating, embarrassing.”
At a hearing of the House Budget Committee, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) asked Bush, a Republican, if he agreed with the Americans Tax Reform pledge to oppose all tax increases. Bush responded that he refused to sign the pledge three times.

Guess Jeb learned a good lesson from his dad about the tax pledge thing. Raising peoples taxes is always the easiest way out for politicians. It should always be used as a last resort of a really serious crisis, rather than a convience so they don't have to work hard on a budget and cut all kinds of fluff and goodies. Too many friends with benefits milling about.

GHWB fell for it, thought he made a good deal with the dems. He REALLY should have known they were setting him up for election bashing. You could just see it when only dems were surrounding him on the signing of the budget, and the smirks could not be wiped off their faces. Nothing like getting the tax raises to be able to blow more money plus use it against Bush come election time.

That many years in politics he should have known what he done did with that.
