I am not gonna sound very liberal here and some may view my thoughts bordering on hate but.. I feel if a pilot gets a bad gut (danger) feeling about someone? They should have the right to toss anybody off their aircraft:)

WRONG!

If the pilot or airline stewardesses have a problem with a paid passenger, they should notify security (if possible) and let them handle the unruly passenger. That said, the flight hadn't taken off, the passengers volunteerily subjected themselves to multiple screenings, they didn't resist in any fashion. The only thing that they were guilty of is being of the Muslim faith.

I understand some people's concerns in a post-9/11 world, but these men did nothing wrong and didn't deserve to be discriminated against. It would have been a completely different issue if they weren't cooperating or if airline security and discovered something suspecious in their luggage, but neither were the case. And before anyone says "the 9/11 hijackers weren't doing anything wrong either until they took over 3 commercial jetliners," our pre-flight security measures have changed significantly since the dreadful September morning. Our airline screening procedures are far more rigorous than they were before, and airline passengers can't board planes carrying liquids, unidentifiable solid substances or sharp objects anymore.

Now, if these two Imans were part of this ploy to get airlines to 'freak out' over Muslims flight on commercial planes in the US, then they've proven their point that xenophobia against Muslims men does exist in this country. It's the same type of bigotry that ran ramped in the 50's and 60's against Blacks only folks are turning around and walking the other way when they see a Black man walking down the street or locking their car doors. Instead, we're now booting Muslims off planes whether they cause trouble or not. I understand the anxiety pilots must feel, but when it's not warranted they hurt America's image of being a tolerant nation regardless of one's race, sex, nationality or religious belief.

Fine! But he should also be sued for using his gut feeling after these guys went through security 3x. His gut feeling was based on bigotry.

This episode simply shows how paranoid and ignorant many Americans are about "them." We have TSA for a reason, these guys went through it 3x. I hope they sue the airlines and I hope the pilot gets some re-education.

If there was real reason to think that they were somehow a threat, then yes it would be ok to remove them. If there is no indication they are a threat at all, then no it is not ok to remove them. Just because some people are ******s doesn't mean you get to ban an entire people from travel.

A dress code is what I suggested. What are you complaining about then?

My mistake. I thought you where trying to make a semi-serious attempt at solving a possible problem, instead you are just making stupid suggestions to piss on a religious group. A dress code would make flying 100 % no more safe than it is now. A dress code to fly is a 100 % stupid idea.

That was caused by Christianity? Or Nazism?

BTW-That westboro pic you shoed is a fringe group made up of 80% of the same family.

The Holocaust was anti-semitism taken to it's extreme. "They killed Jesus" was an unfortunate (and inaccurate) excuse for anti-semitism, which I originally said was sometimes caused by Christians seeking revenge for Jesus being killed. Alfons wanted evidence, and well...the Holocaust is pretty obvious evidence of anti-semitism.

As far as the pic goes, I was looking for an easy visual of Christians acting in the name of Christianity, all the while being very un-Christian. Westboro is just an easy target for that. Alfons' example of "not peaceful" was Muslims protesting with some pretty outrageous signs. Westboro is largely the same thing (except not Muslim).

Three or four years ago I might have said yes. However I came to the realization that the huge vast majority of Muslims are not terrorist nor do they agree with terrorists. SO I voted no. voting yes would be no different than saying we should ban Catholics from running daycares and elementary schools and ban them from stepping foot inside day cares and elementary schools because of a handful of pedophile priests.

Imam is an anagram of Maim!!!!
Maim means:
Wound or injure (someone) so that part of the body is permanently damaged

Re-education lets see, where have I heard that before. Oh, thats right the communist used re-education in the prisions of China and the Soviet gulags.

Come on Sergeant, there's a difference between indoctrination versus promoting understanding and eliminating ignorance. I wouldn't blame the pilot though, I'd blame the idiot passengers. Or at least the passengers deserve a greater share of the blame, even if the pilot was being an idiot as well.

Oh I have a feeling the airline will be sued.

It was a bull**** move and anyone with sense knows it. I think Ikari pretty much sums it up.

It depends on why he did it. If it was a security issue, good for him. If it was purely based on them being Muslim, that's a disgrace.
