I think they should shut up already.

What I'm talking about is all the intel they got, who did the operation, and the like. They've put the terrorists on notice, and had they simply stated they killed Osama... and fed misinformation... like... he was isolated and had lost authority, it might be easier to keep the idiots calm, let them communicate and pick them off.

Perhaps they are feeding misinformation to the press, and in reality got far less than advertised in an effort to increase tensions amongst the network(s), thereby increase their insecurities, their activity and mistakes.

If it's the latter, then it's a great ploy, but I think it's the former and wish they'd have revealed almost nothing. Osama is dead, is fish food and that is all we needed to now.

And you?

I think conservatives are just looking for anything to whine about. Good news in WOT, good news on unemployment, lackluster republican debate, it's not a good week for you all and so you are searching for anything you can find to whine about.

Zimmer, weren't you saying in the other thread you'd prefer it if they released his photo, and now you're deriding them for releasing too much info? Methinks Redress is right.

Their credibility is such that what they have to say now is pretty meaningless. Rabid liberals will believe all the contradictory stories and conservatives won't believe any.

Geronimo!!!!!

I haven't been following the idiotic hack comments from either side concerning this issue. Looking at it completely objectively, I would agree. There is no reason to release more intel and information. We don't need to let potential enemies know how we do things.

Actually there are concrete reasons why we do release such info, beyond it's political value at home. Just one such is to dissuade the terrorists from going forward with plans that even knowing some details would be still hard to stop.

The government never reveals enough, ever.

I am concerned about national security and exploiting what we have to the absolute maximum so we can rid ourselves of the assholes that have disrupted what was a fairly peaceful time before 911.

It's got zero to do with whining about anything. I want the Mother****ers that are causing us grief to find a quick end. Them and their perverted ideology.

This would be accurate if we were dealing with the sane. These folks are uninterested in saving their own lives. Dissuading them with information wouldn't be very effective.

It is very unfortunate that some people think everything is partisan. People who believe that make intelligent discourse neigh unto impossible. Nonetheless, I'll try.

This operation had been in the wind for months. The White House failed to have a plan in place as to what response would be if the mission succeeded. (One can only hope there was a plan in place if it had failed.)

The misinformation that went out is disconcerting. OBL was armed...no, he wasn't. OBL used his wife as a shield....no, he didn't. There was a huge firefight...no, there wasn't. OBL's son was 'taken'...no, he was killed. OBL was armed...no, he wasn't. Are we releasing photos? Or not? Personal meeting with Seal Team Six increasing the likelihood that their identities will be revealed.

IMO, the release of this information and the way it was done was designed to make political hay. I'd rather think that than believe the White House's lack of planning was a ****-up.

All conservatives of course, even the one that voted Not sure.

As long as they do not revel the names of those involved with killing Bin Laden or reveal exactly how they got the intel on where he was staying at I really don't care what else they reveal.
