First GOP Presidential Primary Debate in South Carolina

which impressed you as being most suitable for holding the office of President?

I was actually quite impressed with Cain, he's a good speaker, quick on his toes and he wiped the floor with the other candidates except Ron Paul to a certain extent, but I'm biased because I like him.

Rick Santorum is a ****ing idiot.

Ron Paul is, as usual, too full of himself and too aware of his fan base. Someone should take him aside, since he's such a fan of the Constitution, and inform him that habeas corpus is defined in the Constituiton as a privilege, not a right.

Governor Johnson is pro-abortion. He's toast as far as the Mayor is concerned.

Tim Pawlenty's support for Cap and Trade was foolish. That he later decided against it was more of pragmatic analysis of the political winds than any judgment of technical merit. It's been obvious from the start that "Cap and Trade" plans do not benefit the consumer.

Rick Santorum is still greasy.

Herman Cain seems to have the right answers. He's presentable, articulate, and apparently knowledgeable.


Oh, and for the record, not one of the people viewed as "big shots" who declined to participate in this function in South Carolina was anyone the Mayor would like to see more of in any position of authority or power.

Ron Paul. I didn't vote because I didn't watch the debate, I thought it would be Friday. I'll watch it on the net later. Of course, the only way the Republicans have a chance at winning the presidency is if Mitch Daniels runs and gets the nomination.

Edit: Rick, for me, at the 3:21 mark, lost any chance of me voting for him. Hes an interventionist and wants to impose America's will on the world. We had enough of that in last 100 years, it didn't work out too well.

So how do kidnapped individuals fall into that, in your opinion?

I'm actually surprised by some of these Republican candidates because they seem to have a more pragmatic national security out look and somewhat on the up and up about the economy. I don't agree with repealing all corporate taxes because corporation benifits from the freedom America has and the services it provides (FBI, fire, police, trade packs with other countries etc) and as such they should contribute to these programs. However, on social issues I'm completely against 90% of Republicans, and thats being generous.
