Do you feel wearing images of famous dead people is tacky?

Do you think wearing a T-shirt of the Times pic of bin laden with the X crossed through his face is tacky?

Yes, it's tacky. Wearing a shirt to celebrate someone's life and accomplishments is fine, but wearing a shirt to brag about killing someone is gauche.

Now, if the guy who took the shot wants to boast about it, that's a different matter.

Nah, it just emboldens the enemy, makes you a target, and makes BL a martyr to Muslims forever. Why does Jesus come to mind.

Depends on who the dead guy is and how his image is displayed.

Many crucifixes have a tiny jesus on them, ergo, they're wearing an image of a dead guy. Jesus himself never did anything extravagantly bad.

The Mayor fully supports the freedom of everyone to wear images of Mohamned, another famous dead guy.

That some people are foolish enough to wear images of Che Gueverra, a terrorist and racist bigot, is, yes, exceptionally tacky, but those people have the freedom to be as stupid as they wish.

Would there ever be anything wrong with wearing George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, Benjamin Franklin, Lincoln and Grant? How about the Einstein images? Should we not inspire our children to be like the famous entrepreneurs, Alexander Bell, Edison, Tesla? Should not the intrepid explorers be honored, the Columbus, the Magellan, the Lewis and Clark?

Lol... Che Guevara.... racist biggot.... guys who owned slaves, killed Native Americans, supported racist laws etc. Not so much. Don't even get me started on Columbus and Magellan.

No, why would it be?

I was just wondering. I have Biggie and Tupac T-shirts. I wear them in honor.

I am just thinking it could be tacky to wear a dead person as an insult like the person with an X through their face. I get why someone would though as if to say F You UBL! And I would mayb e wear a t-shirt that had a saying about bin laden being killed.

Anyways was just wondering what others thought about it.

Just ot this part - no. Perfectly acceptable.

I wouldn't do it but I don't think tacky is the right word for it - moot, maybe?

I like the 'Navy Seals: 1, Bin Laden: O' thing though.

An image of a famous person worn to honor that person is not tacky.
Wearing an image of Bin Laden crossed out is tacky in the extreme.

I want one of John Lennon with a red X over his face.
