CNNs coverage of the protests in the middle east was much better.

"It's like on twitter and stuff"

...for half an hour at a time.

Yep. CNN loves their Web 2.0 and touchy screens.

My dad actually loves watching that channel. I've watched it, it isn't too bad.

Don't watch/read Al Jazeera but heck, if it's not in Obama's back pocket that's more than I can say for our media.

Why must people be soo stuck in their cubicle media love?
Broaden some views...

What do you mean by "cubicle media love"?

So you can understand different perspectives.... :)

No doubt there are endless ways to bash the US. You never hear anyone bash the Russians, guess they're afraid the Russians may come a kill them.

Boris Yeltson was their George W. Bush on the comedy scale.

Sounds like you're only interested in Americans having different perspectives. How much "understanding" does Al Jazeera display (I honestly don't know)? It's just kind of amazing to me that nobody in this thread allows for the possibility that anti-American reporting may not be entirely factually accurate.

And it's kind of amazing to me that so many people automatically dismiss any (real or perceived) "anti-American reporting" as lies propagated by people who are either confused, dishonest, or evil. Is it really so hard to imagine that not everyone in the world views the United States as the sole arbiter of everything good?

When Al-Jazeera reports the news, they do it from an Arab perspective. That is, from the perspective of people who have had the US occupy their lands, bomb them, prop up their dictators, and support their biggest perceived enemy...all while preaching "freedom" to them. Is it really so unbelievable that under those circumstances, Arabs might dislike the United States...and not because they're crazy extremists and/or ignorant of the truth?

Yes, when I'm told the US is the great evil in the world, not matter who says it, I dismiss it. It does not surprise me that you would embrace it. ;)

And this has what to do with Al-Jazeera?

Swell. Excellent rebuttal. My opinion of your intelligence has just gone up a notch. ;)

Naa i watch CNN and some MSNBC and then i just watch other "alternative media outlets" to make up my mind on American issues....
Really dont see how it is "anti-American"either...

I believe the US does a lot of good. I have to question any news source that is unable or unwilling to recognize that.

Yeah, it was a cheap shot and I apologize for it (sincerely).

Also have done a "fairly good amount of bad" tho also... Which you generally dont hear...
Just saying why is it so wrong and anti american to hear a different perspective of things?

On balance, I think the US does a lot more good than bad. However, as a citizen I want a fair and complete picture of what my government is doing at home and abroad. I don't want a perspective skewed in either direction, I just want the truth. Sometimes, in order to get the big picture, you might have to put yourself in someone else's shoes.

I've been reading Al Jazeera for over a year now and haven't noticed any Anti-American bias. Anti-Israeli, perhaps... but not Anti-American. They have been a constant source of reliable information in the middle east. With the pathetic coverage we often get in the U.S., it's easy to forget the hell that people are living through in the middle east and around the world.

Al Jazeera rarely has "happy" news on their front page, but the world isn't a happy place. Reading their articles brings me back to Earth.
