Yes, attempts will be made. Some will be deterred from attacking, others will be out to send a message. I fear the second group will be the majority.

I think it's very possible that there were Doomsday plots in place that will wreak some havoc. Also think that it's only a matter of hours until his followers claim he is not dead. 'Course that will be for them to prove.

I don't believe that photograph posted earlier here is real. Neither will his followers.
 
I think there will be. You don't kill a figure head to a group and then not expect retaliations.
 
The potential is there. The State Department issued a warning for people who are travelling abroad.
 
Lest we think its over, its not.
Hatred ,ignorance, fear will take time, a long time to heal.
Kill a criminal, ten will take his place.
Then why do we continue to kill criminals ?
Save a child, via protective services(for one), and there will be fewer criminals.
Is this one of the programs that the conservatives wish to cut ?

I believe there will be attempts. However, I believe time will tell if those attempts were successful.

I think these hate groups would soon tire of their life lost.
In other words, an alternative.
My proposal - a new bible - using only the words of Jesus.
 
I believe they will try, but hopefully will be unsuccessful. If they are smart they will realize that we will never give up and will find them also if they choose to carry on this war of hatred.
 
I doubt that anyone who wasn't already going to the attack the U.S. anyways will do so as a result of OBL's death. Maybe some people who were already planning an attack will move up their timetable, but its not like everyday folks are terribly sad about his passing.

Doubtful. The dearth of terrorist attacks in the US since 9/11 indicates that it's a lot harder for al-Qaeda to attack us than is commonly believed (or there just aren't that many al-Qaeda sympathizers). The reasons for this are complex, but I doubt it had anything to do with them not being enraged at us over the last 10 years. If there are any attacks, they've probably already been in the works for a while and probably are unrelated to Bin Laden's death.

I think the media tends to play up this angle because fearmongering gets them viewers.

I think those bent on destroying us and our way of life for that of thier oppressive version of thier religion don't need an excuse to "retaliate".....
 
Ayman will certainly feel he has an "Islamic" duty to avenge the death of the "holy warrior". It will happen, i hate to say it, but our job is to keep one step ahead of them at all times and minimize any potential backlash. It could last for years, it could be just one big attack. We will likely find out in the coming weeks and months.
 
Hopefully not, but it's impossible to be sure. However, I don't plan to alter my life on the possibility that some cra/cra from the middle east is going to blow something up. The odds are much greater that I'll die in a traffic accident on my drive home (especially since my 17-year-old daughter is driving today).
 
Why wouldn't there be? They're not going to pick up their ball and go home over the loss of one man when they've already lost thousands.

The war isn't over until the enemy is broken.
 
In the short term ... it is likely to enrage some extremists. The real masterminds plot slowly and carefully and it is ongoing.

However ... all in all it is a clear message delivered with precision to terrorists and people like ... even Gadaffi of our abilities.

Obama ... was resolute and gutsy. The military who risked their lives on this mission are heroes. Obama ordered this amplified manhunt and went after this carefully and strategically.

The burial was perfect solution ...!

Obama's carefully chosen words in the announcement were delivered with resolute intelligence and to bring justice for all people of all faiths murdered by OBL.

Who cares? It's worth the moral boost for our troops that have been fighting in Trashganistan for several tours.
 
Probably. Whether it is successful or not depends on our ability at intelligence gathering.
 
I voted yes...but im thinking more attempts than anything else, doesnt necessarily mean they will be successful. The terrorists will feel they need to make a symbolic retaliatory strike to honor their fallen scum leader
