Well Foreign Energy Demand offhand needs to be nationalized. But there's so much I don't know.

Next question:

Should the FED be localized?

The FED should be defunded and dismantled. The FED has too much power to manipulate the laws of supply and demand.

I think Obama should nationalize the world. That'll fix it.

Yes he is wrong.

The Federal Reserve is subject to Congressional review and the Chief Fed officer is appointed by the president, confirmed by Congress.
It is nationalized and has been since it's inception.

The only way for the FED to be legal is if it is completely and totally under the control and regulation of Congress alone.

Working on it. One doesn't take over the world in one Iraq War.

I got into SO many fights about this before I got a smart phone.

By my reading of the Constitution and commentary by the Founders, the Fed is specifically forbidden.

The President chooses the head from a list provided to him, confirmed by Congress. And as far as I know, that's the extent of Congressional input into the whole operation.

The Fed is not subject to congressional oversight.

Just recently as a result of the housing collapse Congress finally got a limited audit of what the Fed felt like showing them.

Allowing private banks to establish monetary policy and issue currency is THE definition of appointing the fox to guard the henhouse, IMHO. I know Jefferson was dead set against it.

It doesn't need to be nationalized, it needs to be repatriated, by repeal of the Federal Reserve Act, IMO.:2wave:

And I believe the chairman (Bernanke) is more like a speaker and administrator (like every chairman indeed) than a decision maker. So he doesn't make any difference - the private bankers decide the monetary policy.

The FED should be put under congressional control. The threat of being voted out of office is a better check on bad behavior than nothing at all.
