Peruvian general election, 2011 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As the election draws to a close, it looks like a close race between the red commie (Humala), a smart economist from Berlin with dual citizenship in the U.S. (Kuczynski), and a right winger, the daughter of a former Peruvian dictator (Fujimori).

My wife is an impassioned Peruvian-American resident who strongly supports Kucynski. If you were a Peruvian, who would you vote for (please don't rely strictly on my short description and commentary, read the article).

Celtic Warrior, why did you vote for Keiko? Just because she's far right? The fact that her father was a murderous tyrant and she's prepared to pardon him and carry out his policies doesn't strike you in the wrong way?

You don't think a strong leader like Alberto Fujimori was needed to combat Sendero Luminoso???

Also, you said to read the linked article... I don't see anything in that article that says that she would be a "murderous tyrant."

That's questionable. I'm sorry to prove Godwin's Law correct, but was Adolf Hitler necessary to restore order to Germany? Fujimori instituted secret police who killed a lot of innocent people. He also forcibly sterilized some tens of thousands of Andean people and was of course, notorious for heavy corruption. His daughter has publicly supported her father's policies, has vowed to execute people for "serious offenses" and is likely to release her father from jail. Why not go with Kuczynski?

who does ALBA hate the most?
