Which Domino will fall next?

Which regime is next?

While the protests were limited to Benghazi, I didn't think Gaddafi's regime was threatened. With them now spreading to Tripoli and the use of violent force not having scared off the protesters, it would seem his days are numbered. With Manama seemingly settled down for now and none of the others are seemingly that close to toppling their regimes yet (with the possible exception of Yemen -- though civil war is perhaps more likely there as the south has long not been pleased with the union two decades ago), it is possible that LIbya is next...

I'm skipping straight to the part where there is a global sh*tstorm like no other. :hitsfan:

Which regime will be the next to fall now that Tunisian and Egyptian dictators have been driven out of power by the people?

I pick Bahrain. I don't see any way that the leaders of Bahrain survive this.

Although I'd like to say Libya, I think that might just be wishful thinking. Qadaffi is extremely ruthless and wouldn't bat an eye at murdering thousands if he needs to. Furthermore, most of the protests have been confined to the east. Libya might fragment into two countries, but so far there isn't any indication that Qadaffi is losing control of Tripoli.

From what I am seeing now is that Benghazi is outside his control and that demonstrations HAVE started in Tripoli...

You are right that he is ruthless, but if the army sees that the people aren't going to be cowed, that is the end of Gaddafi... the army won't want to be on the losing side of this...

Would love to see Gaddafi go down but he would have no problem killing his own people. How a military can kill their own is hard to understand but it has happened before in history.

If there was ever a time to topple him this has to be it.

Hard to say........the only one Im certain of is Nov. 6, 2012 ......when the Obama regime falls......

You better come up with a good candidate to go up against him as all I'm seeing so far are a bunch of losers and has beens.

The Kenyan Tyrant eeked out 52% in the best chance year Democrats have had in quite a while........against the loser of liberal losers..... McCamnesty.

Once America has had 4 years of Jimmy Carter-Back-In-Black.......they will vote for a dish towel over Obama.

By the power invested in me as master of the universe, I dub the troll.

Libya. It has really hit the fan there. The protesters raided a military depot and are armed to the teeth. Rumors that the protesters now have tanks and cannons, among other things. They've taken complete control of the city of Banghazi, which is the second largest city in the country. Of course, they nearly burned it to the ground first. Khadaffi's son was on Libyan tv professing that all opposition demands will be met, but that if the fighting doesn't stop, the country will be divided into separate countries, the west will invade and colonize again, and everyone will starve.

Yeah, I think Libya is in big, big trouble.

The prediction markets on InTrade seem to agree with those of you who think Libya is on deck. The contract "Qadaffi to no longer be leader of Libya by December 31, 2011" is currently trading at 60%.

I'm starting to come around to that view too. The regime can probably survive if they can convince the military to keep gunning down protesters...but that may not be likely. The younger Qadaffi's speech tonight was a HUGE show of weakness. If you're an authoritarian leader facing a popular uprising, the absolute worst thing you can do is show weakness, because it almost invariably leads to your downfall.

Looks like you should have added that as a 'checklist' and / or added 'most / all of the above'...

These riots are going to rip through the middle east... and possibly throughout the world...

Hopefully the Obama Regime.

Well, the U.S. has an election in about 22 months to take care of that. However, I think another regime or two will fall before then... Besides, our president in Taiwan will likely lose his re-election bid before American voters can make it a Harvard-Law-School one-term double...

Well, I did put 'next' in the question. I don't believe there will only be one more...

Well that explains it. You're one of those silly birthers. Factual information means nothing.

Fair enough...well, to answer that then, I don't know which one will be 'next' to fall, but they will all be in the process of failing... as you put, like dominoes.

Or like Kissinger put, like scenes out of a drama...
