At this point, do you plan on voting for Obama in 2012?

That was only one tiny bit of his misinformation in this thread.

I know that, but I felt like starting small... so Badmutha wouldn't cry too much.

.....what do you call it when a leader defies the overwhelming will of THE PEOPLE?
A Bushism?
As you may know, the Bush Administration has begun to significantly increase the number of U.S. troops in Iraq to help stabilize the situation there. Do you favor or oppose this?

  • Favor: 38%
  • Oppose: 60%

USA Today/Gallup Poll. Feb. 9-11, 2007. N=1,006 adults nationwide. MoE ± 3.

Maybe the biggest presidential ass whooping........but that was just one race.........Nov. 2, 2010--The Largest Political Ass Whooping in History on the other hand.......took place on the national level....the state level.....and the municipal level......the utter rejection of Obama and everythigng Democrats stand for from sea to shining sea.

Republicans took Control of the House with 63 House Seats, 6 Senate seats, 10 Governorships, 680+ State legislative seats, and control of 19 more State legislatures..

God Bless Red America.......

I'm curious. Are ALL rightwing partisan hacks such as your self uneducated in history, or just you? Here are the largest changes in Congress throughout history broken down by HoR, Senate, and combined:

HoR
1) 96...1933...Democrats
2) 93...1875...Democrats
3) 75...1891...Democrats
4) 75...1949...Democrats

64...2011...Republicans

Senate
1) 15..1959...Democrats
2) 12..1933...Democrats
3) 12..1981...Republicans
4) 10..1935...Democrats
5) 10..1875...Democrats

7...2011...Republicans

Combined
1) 108...1933...Democrats
2) 103...1875...Democrats
3) 84...1949...Democrats

71...2011...Republicans

Now, consider that in 1933 FDR defeated Hoover 472-59. EASILY, this was the biggest political asswhopping in US History. EASILY. In 1949, Truman defeated Dewey 303-189. Though this was re-election, this would easily be the 2ND biggest political asswhopping in US History. Notice... both were by Democrats.

What else to we notice? The top 4 HoR shifts were all by Democrats. 4 of the top 5 Senate shifts were by Democrats. The top 3 Congressional shifts were by Democrats. What happened in 2011 doesn't turn up in the top 5 of ANY list.

So, what have we learned? Firstly, Badmutha doesn't know history. Secondly, Badmutha's premise is completely false... of course. And lastly, Badmutha presents himself as a silly right wing hack, attempting to spread misinformation, lies, just overall foolishness. Fortunately, there are those on this forum eager to expose such folly for the dishonesty that it is.

Badmutha... next time try doing some actual research before attempting to present such ridiculous hackery.

Which is all why the gains made by the GOP this past election so historic. Are you suggesting it didn't mean anything?

That's not what Badmutha presented. Here is the comment of his that I have thoroughly dismissed:

Nov. 2, 2010--The Largest Political Ass Whooping in History

Oh, and just to continue the destruction of Badmutha, in 1933, the Democrats gained 12 governorships. I don't have the data for legislatures, but I would imagine it was comparable. There have been several times in history when, during the mid-term elections, there has been a 9+ swing in governorships. Again, "the largest political asswhopping in history"?   Not even close... unless you know nothing of history.

You know you're not voting for Obama. I know you're disgusted with his performance.

It really depends on the next 18 months and who he is running against. No way will I vote for a social conservative, but how a Republican stacks up, fiscally, will help me decide. I hope I don't have to do what I've done in quite a few elections, recently: vote AGAINST someone, rather than FOR someone.

And Obama wasn't my first choice... or even second for the nomination in 2008.

So if Mitch Daniels (a semi-solid right wing conservative) doesnt run, or your opinions of other likely Republican candidates dont improve...........

............your plan is to jump all the way to the other end of the poitical spectrum and elect the biggest Left Wing Extremist to ever stain the whitehouse?

Why dont you just stick your finger in the air prior to entering the voting booth........as it seems you have the political spine of a jellyfish.

First, of all, I mostly have voted democrat on the national level, including last presidential election, so I don't see voting for Obama as "jumping to" anything. If anything, voting for a Republican for president would be somewhat unusual for me. Daniels and Obama are both moderate politicians who take positions mostly based on what makes sense and is reasonable, rather than what is popular. Their ideas of what is best differ, but unlike most people on this board I don't really think there are any universal truths in governance. I'd be fine with either a small-government or big-government individual, because I recognize the strengths of both theories - as long as important individual rights are protected. I don't see either candidate as going overboard in his political ideology and infringing on any of the rights I consider fundamental, whereas that is a constant danger with the other Republican candidates.

So breathing freely without having to pay for it isn't a fundamental right? Gotcha. ;)

Would you like to elaborate on this "point"?

I'm in a wait-and-see position at this point. I'd vote for Mitch Daniels, but the Republicans haven't thrown up anyone else that I find particularly compelling.

the stock market is doing well, if the unemployment comes down, and the economy is on the uptick, obama is re-elected.

At this point, do you plan on voting for Obama in 2012?
Yes 35.71%
No 64.29%

Jimmy Carter--Back-In-Black wont see a third term...........

Absolutely!! If there was no other reason, I would vote for him because of possible SCOTUS picks. There is a possibility that 5-4 votes can be reversed and that would be a wonderful thing.

I dont know if sending the Constitution to the paper shredder would be that wonderful.......but I know liberals would love it.

BTW, all that misery you mentioned began under George W. Bush. And most of the debt was caused by Republican presidents beginning with President Reagan.

Yes of course.....it was all Bush's fault.......but only after it was all Reagan's fault. And the fact that over 70% of our bloated budget came from the Democrat Party........is also the Republican's fault.

Which of course came after a majority of Americans and Democrats for the matter........supported the initial Liberation of Iraq.

.....still doesnt compare to The Kenyan Tyrant shoving his subprime health care bill to nowhere down our throats.......or his attempt to shove his Cap & Tax bill down our throat.....against the overwhelming will of We The People. Welcome to Tyranny......

Next time I would suggest using your open eye..........

Republicans took Control of the House with 63 House Seats, 6 Senate seats, ........this is not what qualified Nov. 2, 2010 as The Largest Political Ass Whooping in history. 63 House seats and 6 Senate seats while impressive, isnt the kicker, especially when you consider only 1/3 of the Senate was up for election, which is the only reason why the Democrats and Harry the body odor Reid retained control.

10 Governorships, 680+ State legislative seats, and control of 19 more State legislatures.. was truely what made Nov. 2, 2010 the ass whooping that it was......and probably the reason why you didnt want to touch that fact.

Throw all the feces you want....when it comes time for redistricting.....the reality of Nov. 2, 2010--The Largest Political Ass Whooping in history will come to fruition.

You know, at this point, I hope he's voted out of office purely because I want people to stop bitching about him. Seriously, Some conservatives here blame him for everything short of their bowel movements, but alas, I should not think so wishfully, for even if a republican is voted into power in 2012, and they fail to fix the economy, we'll hear for 4 years "Obama's mess was too big to fix".

And irony and Hypocracy will have won the battle once more.

i was thinking about that this morning on the way to work......why not just concede all power to the republicans? i'm sure they'll have this cleaned up in 2 years, aren't you?

Except in the case of the other option being Satan, no I won't be voting for him.
