It will happen first in liberal states with referendums. When the older generation dies off Generation X and Generation Y are going to be the primary voters and they are incredibly socially liberal. Its not about whether people agree with it or not. I have friends who've visited prostitutes in Vegas and overseas in the military but I would never do it. Thats just my own person moral system though. Just because I don't agree with it my friends shouldn't be deemed criminals because they choose to pay for some "company" from time to time.

I really don't believe the younger generations will support legalizing prostitution.

Times change. It is quite possible that prostitution could be legalized in this country during my lifetime. It most likely won't happen in the next 20 years, but it could certainly happen in the next 50.

I bet it doesn't happen.

Sure they did.

California will eventually legalize brothels like Nevada has done. Hawaii probably will too. Maybe New York. But you're right, we will never see prostitution legalized in Alabama.

Cailfornia needs the tax revenue. Hawaii or NYwill never legalize it.

Ive always said...if men could get paid for prostitution as easily as women not only would it be legal but they would offer college degrees in the field.

There is a lot of support for its legalization already. It is just not a very vocal movement. Yet.

And the Libertarian Party completely supports legalization.

I did not suggest that the support was there now in every place. In fact, I specifically gave this issue a large amount of time in which I see it happening because I don't believe there is a majority of support right now, in most places. However, I do believe that these issues tend to trend toward more freedom, rather than maintaining consentual acts of adults as illegal.

Nearly everything fails, often. The vast majority of business ventures fail in the first few years. That doesn't mean don't do it, it just means find a better way to do it.

In the case of legalizing and legitimizing prostitution, I say it's not worth the effort. Government cannot make it safe, much less acceptable.

California is busy replacing traditonal industries with pot and prostitution. How pathetic. We in the flyover states should require shots and passports to visit there.

Not every part of the us is peopled with liberals/leftists. Many of us have a different idea of what constitutes a functioning society.

Prostitution will never be legalized in this country. The electorate would never let it happen and candidates that support it would get destroyed.

I could see it happening some/many in the blue states.

Didn't go very far. There will be states that legalize it like Nevada but the nation as a whole will never make it legal.

Well of course, even blacks wouldn't have any rights if the feds didnt force southern states to comply. The good ol boys don't like much change.

What a ridiculous comparison.

You probably use that damn eye roll emoticon more than you actually type. Add something significant or GTFO

You give me lots of reason to use it, in fact, think I'll call that emoticon "Johnny". Your comparison of prostitution to the civil rights movement is significantly ridiculous.

It was only a matter of time before that happened.
