One time a person used the clever saying "to Jew someone down on a price" and I nearly had a fit, but he honestly didn't know that this was in any way derogatory.

In fact, he thought it was a compliment, like to be "saavy with money".

This kind of talk is regular talk apparently, in parts of the mid-west.

Can u believe it?

You clearly have no grasp of what I'm saying if you think I'm advocating the development of a master race, so shush.

No, I wasn't talking about you but there are still people around today who believe in that bs, is what I meant.

Sorry.:peace

I really hate polls that aren't public. What idiot started this thread anyway?

It's come up in a thread that some people might consider the word "Jew" to be offensive or insulting. Is "Jew" offensive? I ask this in all sincerity because I do use the word and it hadn't occurred to me that it might be a bad thing to do.

I think it totally depends on the intent of the person using it. Some people (like me) use it because it is just a shortened version of Jewish and easier to say and type.

I thought it was common everywhere. Jewish people are well known for their expertise and skill at haggling. Arabs, too. It's part of the culture in the Middle Eastern regions.

Yes I believe it, fore I also know someone who was of the same opinion.

Not only did they think that, but did indeed use it as a compliment.

not annoyed - just perplexed at a group of people actually believing that their God would be a racist bigot - rather an odd notion dont you think?

This is my last Cheerio

I dont really find this topic challenging at all from any standpoint

Why should you find it challenging when everything you have posted has been incorrect... and you don't seem to know that.
