Not the books....the movie.

What do ya think?

The series Tin Man, which was like a reboot of the Wizard of Oz was my favorite of that universe. The original was too happy and sing-songy for my tastes.

You LIKED Tin Man? LOL! I thought it was HORRIBLE. The boob monkeys? DG? Gray Gale? Ugh.

It was darker than the original wizard, and I prefer an against-the-odds fight like that. Not to mention it had a better plot than the original Wizard, IMO.

First book I downloaded on my new Kindle was The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. The movie was ok, but the book is incredible.

By the way, Wicked is pure evil. It's as close to a book I would like to see burned as it's possible to get. Some things just should not be ****ed with.

Yes, the book Wicked was horrific. The musical is MUCH better, Redress. They changed several things from the book.

3-Disc Emerald Version on Blu-ray. Absolutely fantastic viewing experience.

Like getting rid of the all gratuitous sex and returning all the magic that is the world of Oz?

Um....well, the sex isn't in there. Not sure what magic you want to come back.... I don't want to spoil it for someone who hasn't seen it.

Not "magic" as in cast a spell, but "magic" as in wonderful prose, great characters, brilliant world, and so on. The Oz series is pure awesome.

I don't think you would be impressed, Redress.

This is funny because I feel the exact opposite. I hated The Wizard of Oz (movie, story, everything (Tin Man was okay)), loved Wicked. I think I loved it so much because they did such a good job of turning the characters around. (It also probably helped that my roommate got me hooked on the play soundtrack prior to me reading the book.)

I feel the same way. I loved the movie, and also loved the Sic Fi channel version of the movie. I also liked Wicked, because I thought the play was awesome.

Loved the Izzard of Woz as a kid; still rather like it when I'm in the right mood.

Liked Tin Man. Haven't seen Wicked... what's so bad about it? Is it one of those things that takes something beautiful and turns it ugly and wretched and vile?

Goshin. Oz was exceptional in every way. Wicked made it common.

Agreed - they should have printed it on softer thinner paper - that way it would have been good for SOMETHING at least!

I would watch it in a minute
Even though I am not in it.
I might eat some popcorn, too.
I would sing songs by the hours
As I trip out to to those flowers
and I'd wonder "Do you, too"?

I love the 1939 film and feel it is one of the Ten Best American movies ever made.

I also love the musical WICKED and have seen it twice - the last time from the second row in Chicago and it was amazing. The song "I'm Not That Girl" breaks your heart. Its simply a wonderful story in every way.

I like it all: Wiz of Oz, books of Oz, The Wiz, Tin Man, and of course, Wicked.
