It seems Obama has to play damage control when it comes to his VP. He frequently gaffs (it seems in almost every speech) and I feel he hurts Obama's approval ratings and image as a president. Many say Obama selected Biden because Biden had foreign policy experience. Do you think Obama will not select Biden as a VP? Or do you think he could possibly "conveniently retire" aka. begged to leave behind the scenes so there is no public embarrassment.

I don't think Obama's approval rating has anything at all to do with Biden.

If Obama's advisors think Obama will be more electable with another candidate, he'll throw him under the bus in a heartbeat...giving him the respect of having chosen to leave the race.

Yeah, he'll choose Biden again unless something major happens between now and then. Sure, Biden runs his mouth and says stupid things. But most people like him, and tend to view his gaffes as Biden being Biden rather than as a major negative. He also tends to stay out of the spotlight and doesn't bring about a lot of animosity...which is exactly what presidents usually look for in VPs.

I wish he wouldn't. Biden is a dumbass.
