What is your favorite European country? You're choice could be made on culture, political reasons, food, standards of living, or any other reason. Explain in the reply.

In terms of my favorite place to visit, I think it's a tie between the Czech Republic and Italy. In terms of where I'd most want to live, it's the UK. Specifically London.

Yea I think Italy has great food. Culture wise and politically, I like the Netherlands (been their 2 years ago and it was pretty nice). I've read some good things about Denmark too but have yet to visit.

I would say Netherlands or you UK mostly because of things I can do there that I cant do there.

Spain or Italy due to culture, history and weather. Southern France as well. My home country is fine but too cold for me :) since most of my life I have lived outside it, in warm countries hehe.

Italy, for the food, the women, and the fact that I heard they get 9 weeks of vacation a year there.

Germany

I terms of everything but weather and food

If I could live in Europe, it would probably be in the Netherlands. Their culture is just plain awesome and successful.

Ireland or Scotland. Because the Irish and the Scottish are the coolest mother****ers on the planet.

Italy

The people, their knowledge of beauty and the good things in life.

If you count Turkey within Europe's borders, I'd like to live there by the sea. I could study ancient Byzantine, Roman and Greek history for ever. As long as Turkey remains a moderate secular Islamic country looking to the West - I could be quite happy there.

Alternately, I'm happy living in the UK but wouldn't mind living in France or Slovakia. I like Spain and Portugal but British holidaymakers have ruined it and Portugal's seas are far too cold for my liking.

They do remain as such, less there are Kurds around.

Switzerland is one of the more interesting European countries to me. Not just its political system, but the mixed culture and the country's history. This does not even include the beautiful scenery. Plus, if I wanted to go to Italy, France, or Germany they're right next door.

Of the countries I have visitedd, Switzerland is pretty awesome. But they have weird toilets. I'm just saying.

Winter in Italy for food, culture and weather. Summer to fall in Germany for the beer, hop fields and food.

I changed my mind, it's now Austria, they have a town called Bad Aussee.

Umm... what? We have the same sort of toilets they have practically everywhere else in Europe. Did you get stranded at some out of the way refuge in the mountains with just the basic amenities or what?

Do you have to squat?

Not trying to be cheeky, I was just under the imperssion that you have to squat some places in Europe.

Probably southern Italy for its climate and food, and I love living on the shores of the Med.

I voted other, for Norway or maybe Sweden or Denmark. Norway comes to mind first though.

I like the low income disparity, high freedom of the press, high freedom of speech, high quality of healthcare, etc, etc.

Additionally it's a beautiful country with a rich culture and history.

On the down side it has a fairly high level of military spending per capita. I like Norway in that regard.

Since so many people have suggested I visit a small town in Norway.........
