THANKSGIVING LEFTOVERS!!!

Who's with me??

Where the hell have you been, don't remember seeing you around much recently.
Oh, here and there...

I sometimes stop posting for a couple-few days...

Going to the Iron Bowl.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit & Another copy of Saving Private Ryan on Blu-ray (my current copy had the infamous audio/video sync issue).

I need to catch delivery of Gran Tourismo V at home so I'm sending my wife and daughter out at 5am to get my December b'day presents and Xmas presents.

Maybe I'll shop next month.

Regarding shopping....I'll probably be shopping at midnight on Christmas Eve...Procrastinating bastard that I am.

I lied.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit....Gran Turismo 5.....Forza 3.....Saving Private Ryan, and a large Latte from Starbucks.

I lied too. Turns out I have to take my daughter to the social security office to get a replacement card because hers was stolen the other night while she was at work. Hopefully she'll listen this time when I tell her not to keep her card in her purse. One can hope.

/lecture mode :3oops:

-- Just so we are clear though everyone hear knows it's called "black friday" because this is when businesses make a crap load of money therefore instead of being in the "red" they are in the "black". Just so we are clear.

Thanks for the explanation - as a Brit I had no idea what "Black Friday" meant. In some towns here in the North of England, we have "Black Eye Friday" - it's usually the last working Friday of the year before Xmas and all the office workers head into bars from 11 onwards and drink themselves into fighting frenzies... hence the "Black Eyes" and large number of 999 ambulance calls we always get.

Seems you guys have a healthier tradition.

Did everyone enjoy not shopping today? :2razz:
Well, I was, but I got a "we haz Black Friday ultra-super-epic-deals" email from Newegg - and since I needed a new monitor, and one was on sale...

But that wasn't really "shopping".

Why the hell do you guys only have to remember 1 number 3 times to call an ambulance, whereas we must remember 1 number once and another number twice - and in a specific order, too.

Your way is far less confuziling.

The thing is that I typically try to avoid the big ticket items, because to a degree, it will be utterly pointless. For the most part, I am far more interested in online shopping of televisions, for example, throughout specific pockets throughout the year (there are points at which manufacturers just try to deplete stock of an older television right before releasing the next model...there are also sales from online retailers). It can be a virtual race to the finish, sure, but I think you can get better deals many more times during the year, and still keep your arm without it being bitten off by a rabies-infested Soccer Mom or even the dreaded Zombie-Nun-Shopper.

I decided earlier this week to avoid all stores until at least sunday...

Should be safe by then

Last, I believe there was a security guard who was run over by a bunch of people trying to get inside.

He shouldn't have been standing there.

No, seriously.

I would have used a rope tied to the door handle, or something...

I'm assuming he was opening the doors...

Well, I can't really tell you how it happened. But, I was watching the news a security was run over and killed by people rushing to get inside. Especially in this tough time where people are struggling.

Well if they are struggling maybe they shouldnt buy anything in the 1st place! You have to be a ****ing animal to run another human over and not help them ESPECIALLY when the stampede is caused by a freakin' item on sale!!!

Mobs rarely make sense.

Best Buy sucks anyways

no you suck. I went to best buy just to look around on Black Friday cuz I don't need to be spending the money on stuff anyways with a baby coming along. My gf took a nap in the car. It was sweet.

I did get a bunting for $20 (instead of $50 though) and I got $20 worth of art supplies for $8 for Michaels, bought the baby some glow worm sea horse thing that makes lullaby noises, gf a prego outfit (the jeans with no zipper I guess and a cute shirt) and I also saw a badass 40' Sony LED for $700 that apparently is staying at $700 that used to be $1000..cant wait until I have more money to spare. :(

Also I wouldn't call it healthy at all it is just as destructive as what you described except finanically and eats away at your soul more and more every year as Christmas becomes more and more Godless and more "X-Mas" and "Happy Holidays". But you get some good deals though...but by the time Im 40 I won't have any soul to speak of thanks to **** like this day.
