Will Obama be re-elected?

Will Obama be re-elected?

To answer the OP, I wish that it weren't true, but I don't see how he couldn't be re-elected. The only possibility, I believe, is a Hillary Clinton-type challenge from within his own party. What Republican has the character, name recognition, or credibility at the national level to bring the mainstream Repubs and Tea Partiers back together? I didn't think so.

If there is gridlock it's because neither party is willing to work with the other. The Republicans control the House and the SCOTUS, the Democrats control the Senate and the Presidency. That means they both share blame. It is stupid to hold just one party accountable.

I agree. Unfortunately, according to some here, Nov. 2 was a referendum against compromise.

But I thought the Republicans won the election decisively...

they did win the house, (1/3 of the pie). only a complete retard would think the Reps are the party in power

They didn't suffer big losses in the midterm elections.

Ford lost 48 and 5.

Carter lost 15 and 3.

If you're going to be overly picky about "big," then there's simply not enough historical sample to draw any kind of conclusions from.

What about Bush, Sr. ?

But they promised that they were taking their country back.

Well, you can't say that Carter's party lost big.

Ford pardoned Nixon. That was political suicide.

Plus Obama will get to do what every president this century who lost congress in the midterms and gone on to win a second term has done: run against congress.

Don't forget Reid and Pelosi are still around.

That will be glossed over as the House Majority Leader is a person of color.

The difference between the first half of his term and the second half is that he didn't really have a capable adversary in the Republicans the first couple of years. Now he's got one. All he has to do is crank it up on the perception management and not get caught snorting blow off a hooker's ass.

Scttus is not involved in law making

Scttus is not involved in law making

I don't say this often, but... lolwut?

Of course it is! That's what judicial review is all about. If you think the Supreme Court doesn't shape laws, don't you find it odd that the court rules differently depending on the political lean of the sitting justices?

If Sarah P. runs then he'll have a damn good chance.

Congress and the President make laws and pass bills. Scotus is not involved. Apples to Oranges

What does the SCOTUS do?

interpret laws and judge its legality. They are not involved in the process of making or passing laws

But they do set precedents in how the law is applied and can strike down laws.

The idea that the Republicans "control" the Supreme Court is silly anyway.
