Pick your favorite ... if it's not on the list, it was probably too cheesy or short lived to make it.

Cheesy or short lived

Nooooo way...

The Twilight Zone is a classic..

Well,. I see other's already mentioned The Twilight Zone, but it really is one of my favorite shows. I watch it all the time before I go to sleep. I own a box set. My favorite episodes are the ones with the more scifi theams than the horror themes, but it's an all around good show.

Also want to add.. although some are debating if the show really belongs here, I would argue that it's most famous episodes were of the scifi genre and not the horror..

Torchwood only ran for 2 seasons, but it was pretty awesome. Sexiest bisexual male lead in history, too.

Capt Harkness is beyond Bi... he wanted to do a poodle in an episode iirc.
but anyhooo all that man/man kissyface was a bit awkward for me, but still a good show. oh and I think Starz picked up Torchwood for another season in the US.

oops mybad. it was Jack's exboyfriend that had the hots for the poodle..

yup I like SGU, more so than the two previous SG series.

Whereas I feel exactly the opposite. In the previous series, they could do things that were dangerous but they always kept a lighter tone. SGU, like BSG, is relentlessly dark with characters that are dismal and disgusting. There isn't a single character on the show that I'd piss on if they were on fire. They've gone out of their way to make them all obnoxious, backstabbing asshats. I'd much rather have a show where you can experience a range of emotions, not just the darker ones. With no light, darkness is pointless.

So you're saying that, trapped on that ship, with limited possibilities, you'd not want some of that?

I'd much rather want Lt. James or TJ. Or one or two of the scientists.

Or . . . Ming Na from 15 years ago.

And your point is? Chloe is just as obnoxious as the rest of them. It started out being Chloe and Eli being the two characters to root for. Now... nobody.

First off, no, I wouldn't. Secondly, just because she might be one of the best of a lot of bad alternatives doesn't make her a good choice.

No arguments there... but Ming Na doesn't bat for your team, remember? ;)

Ming Na does, as far as I know. Camille may not.

I LOVED the X-Files. I'll never forget the one about the guy who could flatten his body to crawl under doorways and such. Creepy.

Oh I think I remember this one. Did he go under an escalator too? If so, I watched that episode twice and it creeped me out both times big time.

I loved X-Files. You had science fiction, mystery, dry wit and intelligence all wrapped together. Great show.

Nothing new here, It was done in The Blob, and was an old gag...

"Johnny just got run over by a steam roller, Mrs. Jones."

"Slide him under the door."

Curiousity got the best of me. Here's a list of the top 10 best sci-fi:

1. Battlestar Galactica (new, revamped version)
2. Star Trek - Original
3. Star Trek - Next Generation
4. X-Files
5. Babylon Five
6. Stargat SG-1
7. The Twilight Zone
8. Dr. Who
9. Mystery Science Theater 3000 (this show cracked me up)
10. Sliders

On another note, yes, Buffy The Vampire Slayer was on the top 50 list along with Wonder Woman, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Avengers, Batman, Futurama, The Jetsons, etc.

If you'd like to check out all 50 go to Boston.com. Pretty interesting choices they have. I don't agree with a lot of them myself. Still interesting to review.
