Who says it has to be one, the other, or neither?

I like both.

Caffeine is great for most of the day. But, some good quality liquor is fantastic. When I celebrate something, I treat myself to a nice, cold, glass of a monk's finest brew.

Never was a coffee drinker, and my tolerance for alcohol is not very high anymore.

give me caffine and ephedra in the morning and alcohol and ephedra in the evening

Not including illegal substances in the above choices

I can't stand the taste of coffee, but I absolutely love the smell. I don't even mind waking up at 2:30am with my husband just to make his pot of coffee for him because it means that I get to smell it. If I ever drink coffee, it is with lots of sugar and preferably milk/cream and possibly vanilla or chocolate.

I love both sweet tea and hot tea, although I prefer my sweet tea to be just sweet enough to get rid of the bitter, not sugar-coma sweet like a lot of my family and many southern restaurants tend to make. I do add sugar and milk to my hot tea. And I love lemons, but can't stand them in my tea.

I usually drink clear sodas, but once in a while I'll have a Dr. Pepper. I don't get a lot of caffeine from soda.

I will occasionally have a drink, either a beer or glass of wine or mixed drink, but I rarely have more than one. In fact, I've only had more than one drink once since 2006, and that was while I was on AT this past May. I don't like being drunk.

You and me both. I've actually never tasted coffee, but the smell is wonderful.

What do you prefer to drink - caffeine or alcohol?

I drink both in moderation. I used to drink soda fairly regularly. Now, though, I drink one large dark coffee with two sugars every day for my caffeine fix, and rarely drink soda. If I do drink soda, I try to drink those with sugar instead of HFCS.

I don't drink nearly the amount of alcohol I used to. I enjoy mostly liquor, then wine, and tolerate beer. I used to drink whiskey and rum, but now I tend to stick to kahlua for an occaissional drink. I drink whatever wine the wine store recommends for the occaission, but I adore Japanese plum wine. When it comes to beer, I used to drink hard lemonades, which I will drink to get it out of the refridgerator, but my preferences is Guinness. I don't like to drink any other types of beer.

Coffee at work since its free to me.

Sweet Tea (black or green) at home in enormous quantities.

I don't drink alcohol

Coffee for me, or better yet espresso.

I drink un-sweet iced tea everyday.During the winter I drink hot tea, there is a coffee shop in town that sells different varieties of loose leaf tea.

Caffeine. Soda. Specifically, diet Dr. Pepper is my poison.

diet Dr. Pepper is pretty much the only diet soda I enjoy. It taste like the real Dr. Pepper.

Most diet sodas taste like ass:(

I've never tried Diet Dr. Pepper.

All the others I've tried (accidently) were terrible...I've heard you have to force yourself to acquire a taste for it, but personally, that worries me.

Further, I've heard bad things about artificial sweeteners used in diet drinks (don't know how accurate those things are). But since I rarely drink soda anyway, I simply go for the non-diet when I do, thus avoiding any potential negative effects anyway (not to mention the taste).

Edit: I've heard Coke Zero (or whatever that's called) isn't so bad in the taste department...

Both, and more than I should. I don't get hammered all the time; but I like my PBR. And the morning wouldn't be the morning without too much coffee.

Personally, I'm overcaffeinated as hell. I probably spend a solid 10-15 hours per week in Starbucks or some other coffee shop. I have at least two coffee drinks a day...and then I usually have a soda with my dinner.

I'll usually have a couple beers on Friday night, but I'm definitely more of a caffeine person. Too much, in fact. I need to cut the soda out of my diet and drink more water.

I stopped drinking soda about a year ago. It's difficult to not drink it, its amazing how many times and places it turns up during meals and eating out your options are almost always alcohol, soda, or water.

I allow myself small portions of it, a half cup (a true half-cup) once every few weeks and that helps.

Stopping caffeinated drinks is very difficult. You can end up with severe withdrawal headaches and it makes you irritable.

I used to drink Amp (I still do if I need serious mental concentration, but thats EXTREMELY rare) religiously and when I stopped, it was cold turkey. I found tea to be very helpful at reducing the effects of stopping caffeine use.

Now I drink tea fairly frequently, doubly so during cold weather.

I drink so much coffee that my skin is cafe-au-lait colored.

Regards from Rosie
