How many people will be at the 8.28 Restoring Honor Rally tomorrow in D.C.?

How many people will be at the Restoring Honor Rally?

  • Total voters
    16
  • Poll closed .
But if you want to see folks who are truly misinformed and out of touch with our government, give this a view and get back to me:

YouTube - media malpractice

Seriously, Hugh:

The ol' "change the subject"(and maybe no one will notice)... That's all you got?

I thought you were better then that.

If you do come across some clips of Tea Party People saying something articulate, then please do PM me.

Best of luck!

Yeah, you certainly evinced tons of credibility within that post to be the arbiter of who's "articulate."

I didn't see that post, thank you for bringing it to my attention.

1) I do remember the NYT article and recall there being a thread on it. -- "Wealthier and more educated" kinda flies in the face of what we've seen so far.

I supposed a person can be educated and have money and still be easily duped by a personality like Glenn Beck. Again, if you or Hugh have a link to TP folks being interviewed at a rally and they can answer questions w/o using generalized anti-Obama talking points, please PM it to me. I would really like to see it.

2)Regarding the second link -- there were some very interesting and telling stats there -- did you bother to read them all.

2a)And the 2% difference in "currently employed" -- you interpret that to mean what exactly?

Are you just going to pretend that never happened, or are you going to admit you were wrong for once?

About what?

You're entitled to your own opinion, but not your own facts. The fact is that you're wrong. Period.

lol

Do you even hear yourself? "Yea, you have a study from the NYT that analyzes this exact issue, but what really matters is my own uninformed opinion based on some youtube interviews. Thats SCIENCE."

2)Regarding the second link -- there were some very interesting and telling stats there -- did you bother to read them all.

Is there a point to this, or are you just doing "the ol change the subject"?

...that you were wrong when you said:

I think a lot of the tea folk are out of work, collecting unemployment, etc.

That's why they're always at home when the pollster calls... And at 5pm in the afternoon to watch cartoonsish characters on FNC.

About what?

If you're still having trouble figuring out why your statement was wrong, there's nothing that any of us can do for you.

Wrong about what?

Fair enough. I'll make this as clear as possible. If you would be so kind as to introduce me to these wealthy, educated, and articulate people who call themselves Tea Party... I would love to meet them... (if they can get the time off work)

Is there a point to this, or are you just doing "the ol change the subject"?

My point was there was a lot of information, not all flattering, in the stats about the tea party and the one stat you pulled is that 56% are employed. So?

...that you were wrong when you said:

How was I wrong? 44% of the tea party is not working. What percentage is collecting any sort of Fed entitlements? If those collecting benefits are bitching about federal handouts; seems kinda disingenuous, wouldn't you say?

If you're still having trouble figuring out why your statement was wrong, there's nothing that any of us can do for you.

Well, since you haven't shown me anything to prove me wrong, I guess you're right, there is nothing more you can do.

Don't get frustrated, and don't give up.:peace:2wave:

Wrong about what?

I'm going to make this crystal clear for you so that you can't continue dancing around it.

You said:

The clear implication of this is that tea party members are more likely than the average person to be out of work, which is why they would be overrepresented in polls ("always at home when the pollster calls").

In response to your theory, I provided you with a link showing that tea party members are less likely than the general public to be out of work.

For once, why can't you just say "You know what, I made an off-the-cuff generalization that turned out to be wrong. My bad."?

What part of me saying that I've been to more than one Tea Party and what is reported in the liberal media is far from accurate do you not understand? I have witnessed, first hand, that the liberal media has it completely wrong. There are plenty of videos out there of interviews with Tea Party supporters where they are "saying something articulate". You simply have to open your eyes and watch something other than MSNBC and CNN once in a while. Just because the opinions of the Tea Partiers differ with your distorted view of what is wrong with this country doesn't make it inarticulate.

The vast majority of Tea Partiers are not just against the policies of Obama and this Congress, they are against corruption, high taxes, outrageous spending and the disconnect that Washington has with "the people". It has less to do with Obama than it does with an out of control and invasive federal government. The anger that the Tea Party movement has isn't something that just started with Obama. It's been building for years under Clinton and Bush. The federal government has been grabbing power for years and years. The unattainable spending has been going on for years and years. Of course, the spending has reached a pace that is nothing short of flabbergasting under this administration and this Congress, so their anger is magnified, but their anger isn't something new. It just reached a point a couple of years ago where folks started getting more vocal about it and forming protests. I honestly believe that even if McCain had won in 2008, the Tea Parties would still be taking place because the federal government is still out of control and spending is still outrageous.

Glenn Beck Restoring Honor Rally Attendance Estimated At 78,000 – 96,000

What's funny is that you obviously can't find any legitimate source to back up the 300,000 ++ that's been floating around DP.

Hey, it was a good turnout. However, based on what I've read, if I had traveled even from Baltimore to see that event, I'd been real pissed.

At least at the old Teabagger rallies you had some interesting and funny signs to look at... 'Return to Signage' should be the theme of the next one.

I feel sorry for the parents that drove with their kids through the night to be there. I feel more sorry for their kids.

Still not sure what they restored or honored or even were about... Having America pray to Jesus-God for...return??:confused:

ahh it figures you would be the mouth foamer who holds on so desparetly to vulgarity.

And speaking of mouth foaming vulgarity, check out my sig!

To Beck's defense, Gloria Steinem deserves to be talked that way to.

Oh, sure. And women deserve to be slapped sometimes too.

:rofl I apologise on behalf of mega, he obviously forgot that women can't handle man talk, and must be spoken to in a soft voice, avoiding the use of sharp sounding consonants, bad language, and long words.

Right, of course. Because those are the only two options, yeah? You either treat her like a Madonna or a whore.

Men are so simplistic.

Are you confusing the Greatness that is the Good Reverend with a Beck fan? this red herring of yours deflects from your point.

Red herring? Oh, I'm sorry; I thought vulgarity was the point. My bad.

 You come out and compare calling a woman a bitch to physical abuse, and you have the gall to call me simplistic? You think women can't handle words, or does having a vagina grant you special privileges? This woman in question is all for gender equality (or so her wiki article states) yet she should be exempt from impolite criticism simply 'cause she scored doubles in the chromosome lottery?

Impolite criticism? He called her a man-hating bitch, and told her to shut up. You'd talk to your wife like that? Sister, mother?

The point was the vulgarity of posters in reference to other posters who happen to be part of the tea party movement. The use of "Teabagger" is a simple demonstration of a mouth foaming idiot, who is no better than the beck they cry whine and mouth foam over using insulting language about unrelated Americans in a failed attempt to sound intelligent.

What if I got 10 or so posters here to refer to democrats and liberals as the "party of Ass" or "Ass Pumpers"... Do you think it would foster civil and intelligent debate or do you think these same assholes who insist on being insulting vulgar idiots would be the first to cry?

No, I wouldn't talk to 'em like that, because I'm polite, not 'cause they're female. This may supprise you, but women do have the mental capacity to be able to handle insults, even from men.

Dude, I can't say I give a ****. It's all a game, all semantics. The assholes on this board are interchangeable. I could really give a flying ****.

I know that. I've lived it. I find insults to generally be a sign that somebody has run out of points, and is now running on empty, slogging insults about.

She pissed him off, I get that. And then he showed his ass, to a national audience. And then those of us with any degree of class can say. Whoa, what a wanker, and then life goes on.

Okay, I know where this got derailed. I would NOT have been okay with him talking the same **** to a guy. It was rude, crude and disgusting, and this is the guy everybody has been worshiping for some time now.

Who is everybody? And why does the left hate Beck so much? (I already know why they do, but I'd like to hear their talking point answer directly from them).

Beck is a messenger who is pointing out what is wrong with our government and what is wrong with our country. He has his faults and he is far from perfect, but I rarely see his message being attacked, I only see him being attacked (straight out of the leftwaffe playbook). All I see from the Beck haters is the same thing that we saw from them with all of their Palin hating. They are scared of them. Beck is waking people up to what is going on in our country. He is exposing the agenda that the progrsssives, who have infiltrated BOTH parties, are carrying out. Beck isn't for or against the democrats. He isn't for or against the republicans. He is against the progressives, the communists and the socialists that are in Washington or that have a lot of influence over this administration. Rather than attacking the message, they simply attack the messenger. It's all they know how to do.

"Restoring Honor", my arse..
These tea-baggers really want to restore "good ole whitey" rule.
If only they could be open and honest.
Disgusting!
Progressives ?
Beck is against the Progressives?
Something wrong with progress,beck?
Another dishonest SOB.
