Butter wouldn't melt in your mouth, would it?

Whoa, how on earth.

Damn. J-mac and Ric27 told us this could happen. We should have listened to them. Yesterday, a mosque in Manhattan, today a poll on DP. What's next? Burqas in public schools, I don't doubt.

I was going to say something about J-mac and then I realized I'm not in the basement.

Why are you calling this thread racist?

Since we have a black President, I was wondering how people felt about other black candidates.

And yes, I DO vote on issues, always, not race, sex, or ethnicity.

I don't think the premise of the thread is racist, simply irrelevent to whether or not the president is any good.

It is racist to select people on the basis of race. It's fine that he's the first black president, but I didn't vote for him because he was black.

NIce try, though.

Just so I'm clear... if majority of the black voting population of this country voted for Barack Obama because he was black, that makes them racists? Did I get that right? I'm seeking to clarify...

Oh and my choice... and the only real choice...

President Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho - who else!

Oh you people and your view on race mattering. Just because Republican women love to exploit the fact that they are women and they "know" how to read, write, and drive doesn't mean the same for Democrats and different kinds of people.

Because it implies that voting should be done on the basis of race.

This thread should be mocked into non-existence.

How does the poll imply that voting should be done on the basis of race? The OP merely gave a list of black people and asked who we would vote for?

It's like voting for someone from Louisiana or New Jersey.

You wish. Those places are pristine examples of moral and responsible behavior compared to Chicago.

Who would you like to have for your next black President?

I picked other. Race is not important. Can hard to tell little Timmy and little Suzy that race doesn't matter if we give a rats ass about the color of the president's skin, the first black president or who would make a better first black president.

Having Sowell on there is antithetical to his body of work. He wrote extensively on the audacity of intellectuals thinking they could do it better than others. Sowell is an observant intellectual, not a politician.

If they voted for him purely on the basis of race, then yes. However, the majority of blacks have voted for democrats for close to 50 years now. And, in all of the presidential elections, the person they were voting for was white. That seems to indicate that his political beliefs, and not solely his race, influenced their decision.

Hence, not racism.

If race didn't matter, he wouldn't have asked who our next "black" president would be, but rather, who we would be likely to vote for. Nice try, though.

Walt Williams only if he makes his wife shovel the white houses walk.

Otherwise, this man

He doesn't count, he's just in black face!

So his outside appearance is black but internally he's white...

So you're suggesting he's Wayne Brady?

Wouldn't that at least make him half black since his outsides black? Half Black is enough from what I've been told with Obama. Plus we get the bonus of having Iron Man in our back pocket, lets see how crazy Kim Jong Il wants to get after that. ;)

In all seriousness though, I think its a bit ridiculous to suggest voting for someone simply because they're black. I do like Walter E. Williams views a great bit, Condi and Powell would both be interesting choices due to ideology, and god help us if Sharpton or Jackson ever held any kind of major office.

Though I'd love to see Jackson standing in the senate with his pants down looking at all the republicans telling them to Apologize.....

No vote; bigotry, racism is not my game.
The INTERNET is great; a lot of good is exposed, but a lot of bad as well...
This sewer thread belongs in the "basement".

But he wasn't asking who, out of a mixed racial group, would be our president. He asked for "Your Choice for a Black President". There's nothing racially biased about that.
