I started driving in a 1969 Ford F-150 which my mother sold when I was in the Army. I then inherited a '73 Mercury Brougham which I drove for about 8 months

...then traded that in and had a 71 Chevy Nova which I drove for about 3 years until I wrecked it. I then went to a used and cheap Plymouth Sapporo which I drove until it died 5 years later...

Then a 86 Toyota MR2 which I drove for 5 years and then wrecked and I got a Nissan '91 240SX which I drove for 3 years, traded it in on a '94 GMC Jimmy, which I didn't really like but drove that for 3 years and traded it in on 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP which I drove for 4 years an 2002 Audi A4 - drove that for 4 years and traded it in on 2006 Dodge Charger which I still own and drive. Also I bought a 1999 Dodge Dakota 4x4 used for some utility work around the house in 2007 and still have that as well.

The car I absolutely loved was my MR2... the Nova was a beast as well and I loved that car. The '69 Ford Pickup was a tank and a half and I have very good memories learning to drive that thing. I wasn't impressed with nor would purchase again the Audi or the Nissan 240SX, nor the GMC Jimmy. They were all very forgettable. The Pontiac was also a helluva car and would have bought another one - I didn't even have to change a bulb in the thing and it was rock solid - and quick.

Overall I have to say domestic cars were very good to me. I haven't had a lemon yet and since I take care of things, they are very reliable. I'd buy American again over an import without a doubt. Got my eye on a Ford F-150 with the heavy duty options and 8 foot bed as a replacement for my Dakota in a few years.

I've been driving for 36 years. Most of the cars I've owned over the past 32 years were Toyotas- absolutely loved all of them except for a '75 Corolla wagon that had frequent problems. Had a '65 and a '67 Ford Mustang when I was young. Cool to drive, but nickle and dimed me to death. In my child-raising days, had a Ford Aerostar minivan and a Plymouth minivan- I would never buy a plymouth again, would consider a Ford. I currently have a Honda, and wish I had bought another Toyota instead.

I've been driving for 27 years.

My first car was a 1976 Mustang Cobra II that had a V6 and 4 on the floor. I really loved that car with an excellent center of gravity. I could do donuts at about 35-40 mph without worry that it would roll over. I went through three starters, but what killed it was when I was braking for a stop sign on a rural road all the wheels locked up that resulted in blowing all the tires. My older sister had borrowed it before the tires locked up and would drive around at 70-80 mph in third gear. She cracked the heads in it.

Second vehicle was a 1978 Dodge Ram D150 pick up with a slant 6 that had 200k miles on it. I put another 200k miles on it. The thing still ran after my dad passed away in 1998. It loved to drink motor oil and anti-freeze, but it lacked power when it was fully topped off. It got more power when the fluids was half of what should be in it. I learned that a slant 6 is one tough motor that is hard to kill.

Third car was 1985 and 1/2 Ford Escort and it was a nightmare. Every time I turned around I had to sink more money into it just to keep it running. Eventually I just let it die and junked it.

Fourth car was a 1979 AMC Pacer station wagon. It was a good car, but due to the parts being a mix of Chrysler, Ford, and GM it was a pain to maintain. The brakes failed on it and junked it.

Fifth car was a 1986 Ford LTD II that had one of the first electronic fuel injection systems using a carburetor. The motor locked up after about 15k miles and junked it.

Sixth car was a 1995 Chevy Caprice II that was a former police car. It was a really good car and didn't have much trouble maintaining it until I bottomed out the motor while street racing. After that it would eat water pumps like no tomorrow and overheat.

Seventh car was a 1979 Jeep Cherokee. It ran for about 5k mile before the motor blew. One of the worst cars I bought and would never buy another Jeep.

Eighth car was a 1985 Audi 3500S that ran like a top and handled really nice. It was a very comfortable and stable car. I got about three years of driving out of it.

Ninth car is a 1995 Olds Aurora and so far it's doing pretty well. I only had to replace the firing computer due to the prior owner getting a jump and the guy doing the jump put the positive to the negative and the negative to the positive that fried the computer. I've had to put 3 tires on it, replace the front brakes, the water pump tensioner pulley, and a former room mate just tore the hell out of the rear shocks. I got lucky that he didn't blow the air compressor for the air shocks. Out of all the cars I've owned the best ones to date are the Aurora, Audi, and Mustang. The rest were just maintenance nightmares that you could never fix the mechanical problems without running into the high cost of repairs.

My first car when I started driving on my own in 2002 was my dads 1989 Chevy S-10 2-wheel drive truck, had it for five months then I hit a huge deer. Then I got a 97' chevy S-10 4x4 which I then gave to my brother last year and bought my 2002 Ford Ranger XLT

I think they're cute little cars. What kind of gas mileage do you get in it?

Ferrari, Lamborghini, Jaguar, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Hummer, Ford... Ferrari is the all-time best. No other car comes close. Jaguar, Ford and Hummer were crap.
