I wouldn't say this is forthright:

I'm sorry. For some reason it takes at least an hr for me to load a video. I have a good computer, but have dial-up. Unless someone can tell me how it can be done faster I don't try to play them.

No.

She should sue the Messiah and the federal government for their precipitous unilateral firing of her before Fox even had the time to air the story.

That's where the measurable harm was enacted.

Same here.

But can she sue? Does she have a case? Fox news in their *news-reporting portions* never demanded she be fired or accused her of racism (that I'm aware of, anyway, I'm not sure - I don't sit and watch it) but I did see that individuals like O'Reilly did.

I think she'd have a hard case, actually. . . she'd have to be able to prove that they intentionally destroyed her career and were quite intent on getting her fired.

How can Fox have intentionally destroyed her career when the President fired her before the report was aired?

O'Reilly did, after she resigned, but before he knew it. He has apologized.

I think she would have a better case against the NAACP or White House. It would be difficult to accuse Fox News of anything since she had resigned before being accused of racism. I don't see her winning anything from Fox. NAACP or White House I believe she could.

Gabriel, do you feel pretty silly now since you know that Fox didn't comment on the video until AFTER the White House forced her to resign?

Maybe Fox News should sue.....

Look at all people who believe in the injustice served this woman is appropriate.. How pathetic can you get? It was the story that caused it and it was posted and ranted about by the libertarian "fox news" outlet.. from blog to national television. Don't you think "fox news" should .. um you know.. stop bull****ing for political gain?

Look at all the people [in the White House] who believe the injustice served this woman was appropriate [since they were the ones who punished her]. How pathetic can you get/ It was the story that caused it and it was posted and ranted about by the libertarian [when did they become libertarian?] Fox News outlet [yes, and Glenn Beck sided with her]...from blog to national television [they lied that Fox News caused her forced resignation by airing the video and calling her a racist]. Don't you think [the White House] should...um...you know...stop bull*****ing [I think you spelled that wrong, Gabriel] for political gain?

That's demonstrably false:

Fox News amplifies Breitbart's deceptively edited video. On July 19, FoxNews.com reported: "Days after the NAACP clashed with Tea Party members over allegations of racism, a video has surfaced showing an Agriculture Department official regaling an NAACP audience with a story about how she withheld help to a white farmer facing bankruptcy." The FoxNews.com article further reported that "[t]he video clip was first posted by BigGovernment.com" and that "FoxNews.com is seeking a response from both the NAACP and the USDA." The article is no longer available on FoxNews.com but was republished on another website:

Timeline of Breitbart's Sherrod smear | Media Matters for America

They put it on their Fox Nation page, which isn't hard news. Still, is there anything inaccurate in what they reported? If so, point it out.

The NAACP and the USDA both had opportunity to respond. And the NAACP had the unedited video all along. There's no excuse.

*sigh*
Is anyone going to give any actual evidence that Fox had any role in this, and acted any differently than any other news station? Or do people just like to feel ideologically superior by trying to prove that people who disagree with them "have no honor", whatever the actual facts say?

By what standard do you believe that you are in a position to play judge and jury in this matter? That's why we have COURTS of LAW Convincing partisans on internet sites, is irrelevant.

Conservatives hate it when people get found not guilty because of a loophole.

Now, using a loophole to get themselves out of trouble ("It wasn't Fox News! It was Fox News.com!") -- well, that's different.

Darn that freedom of the press loophole!

If the website DID post the video and said she was racist before she was forced to resign, then you might have something there.

Then again, so did all the other news outlets. Olbermann even said he was angry at his own network for doing it.

And it makes the Obama administration look like total buffoons because they watched these news outlets [wait...I thought they didn't care about them...?] and assumed that there wasn't anymore to the story. THE WHITE HOUSE forced her to resign, not Fox News or Breitbart. THE WHITE HOUSE is the one at fault here. She should sue them.

Make all the excuses you please, just don't ever expect to be taken seriously when using either Fox Noise or Breitbarf as a source. Both have proven time and again to have ZERO credibility. None. Zilch. Nadda.

Well, then, perhaps you can explain the exact chain of culpability which establishes Fox News as the proximate cause, or a contributor to the proximate cause, of Sherrod being condemned by the NAACP or fired by the White House.

Make your case. Be nice and detailed.

It wasn't just Breitbart of FoxNews.com. Why are you only going after them?

breitbart posted the video first.

Yes, dear. However, this thread is ONLY about Breitbart and Fox News as if they were the ONLY ONES who showed her video and called her a racist.

And, more than that, you (and others on this thread) seem to only be really mad at the people that posted the video (only the conservative ones, though) and not the people WHO FORCED HER TO RESIGN.

That's the sort of selective outrage one finds when dealing with partisan bigotry.

I aussmed you would have no mature response.

Can't expect a dog to be anything but a dog... so the saying goes. This applies to ideologues as well.
