what the hell are you even talking about???? I am not misrepresenting anything. I have not even mentioned your precious little study. I simply made the observation that republican-leaning scholars were a rarity. anyone who has ever attended a university or college anywhere in the US can tell you that. I would wager that democrat/liberal-leaning scholars outnumber republican/conservative-leaning scholars 7-8 to 1 easily (the ratio is even higher if you restrict it to the non-technical fields of study)
He just wants to derail this thread into yet another bash libertarian thread. It's very weird. :screwy

Anyway, as to the topic, the baddest-ass president is Andrew Jackson, end of story.

Teddy Roosevelt could kick Jackson's ass with one hand.

what do they teach?

The more conservative one teaches Intro in American Politics, but I have him for Public Opinion and Voting and I have him for Legislative Powers next semester. The other one is my Spanish professor. That being said I would imagine 40-45% of my teachers have been conservative.

My oh my. Such anger and such misrepresentation.

My post was very much on topic - see post #2 right in this very thread and it has been cited and discussed throughout.

I did not bash any libertarian, quite the opposite when I cited a study commissioned by the libertarian oriented Federalist Society.

There is really no need for such anger folks just because somebody presents a different point of view.

1- I am talking about your reaction to my post on Post #11 in this thread.

once again...in english please.

What is very strange is that in your own post #59 right here you mentioned the same study that I referenced.

dude... stop reaching, you'll strain something. I only mentioned the study in my post #59 to show where the term "republican-leaning scholar" came from. otherwise it would've looked like I was just pulling some random phrase out of my ass and commenting on it.

Stop derailing the thread. Thanks.

How in the world can I be accused of derailing the thread when every post I have made is to a post made in it?

Several times over the last few days Coronado I have attempted you to ratchet down your vitriol against me but you just keep on going and going. The last few posts by you show this. if you have some personal problem with me please PM me so we can discuss this like adults and not waste others time and space in various threads.

thank you.

wow. back when I was in school the only conservative profs I ever saw were in the math and science depts. all the english, politics, history, etc profs were liberal as hell.

Sorry, I made the assumption you were a native language English speaker.

And why are you doing this today?

I had a few less-than-liberal professors in the liberal arts department, but they tended to keep quiet about their political beliefs.

How did Grant get passed up? His nickname was The Butcher, and he won the Civil War by being piss drunk, knowing it, and not giving a rat's ass about it.

Ever read his autobiography? It's sitting on my shelf for me to read one of these days. It's supposed to be good.

I actually had a neo-con for a professor my freshman year. It made for great debates.

In general I found that most of the Political Science department keeps their leanings hidden when they teach. If I were to go talk to them about something that wasn't related to class then they would use their beliefs.

wasn't he rather short and fat?

I don't see being ruthless the same as being a badass.

stop screwing with peoples threads, and MAYBE they'll tone it done. Keep your same nonsense up, and you won't have much fun being on the ignore list of 95% of the posters here.

yeah...Idi Amin and Saddam Hussein were both ruthless...but I wouldn't consider either one of them a badass.

Idi Amin was pretty badass. You'd have to be badass to declare yourself the King of Scotland. That's like calling yourself the King of Fiji or some other non-existent place. Not to mention he ate people, married 6 women, divorced 3, had 30-50 kids, and managed to kill hundreds of thousands while most in the media simply regarded him as a 'clown'. Takes a pretty bad-ass dude to pull it all off.

Polk. An unapologetic racist. Disliked even by his political allies. His sole goal was to extend America's territorial control across the continent mostly at Mexico's expense. He achieved all his political goals in just one term. That's badass.

unapologetic racists are even more badass.

Last time I looked, I had the same rights here as the other posters. What you consider as "screwing with peoples threads" is what I consider my right to participate.

There is none so dangerous to the True Believer as the non-believer who tells the truth.

Oof............

There was some "f-you" for the Brits as well. It wasn't all about Mexico.

Was there any doubt? There can be only one..

#1 Most BadAss President.. Theodore Roosevelt
political-pictures-teddy-roosevelt-chuck-norris.jpg

Checking Teddy Roosevelt's resume is like reading a How-To guide on ass-kicking manliness. He was a cattle rancher, a deputy sheriff, an explorer, a police commissioner, the assistant Secretary of the Navy, the governor of New York, and a war hero.

Out of all of his jobs, hobbies and passions, Roosevelt always had a special spot in his heart for unadulterated violence. In 1898, Roosevelt formed the first U.S. Volunteer Cavalry Regiment, known as the Rough Riders. Most people already know of the Rough Riders and their historic charge up San Juan Hill, but few know that, since their horses had to be left behind, the Riders made this charge entirely on foot. You just could not stop this man from violencing the hell out of a San Juan Hill.
