I asked for your favorite president. As in singular. As I said in the old thread, for anyone that mentioned multiple presidents, I picked the one they seemed to regard most highly. Failing that, I picked the first one they mentioned.

No idea. some say he was. Since he is half Kenyan and his mother hated America it seems Kenya is more his country His evasiness is amazing. SO is the fact that he has a social security number that normally is assigned to someone from Connecticut and it was issued a couple years after he first reported working

Actually two people said Madison. Quite a few people mentioned Washington, yes; however, as I've specified earlier in this thread and in the last one, I'm looking for your favorite president. Notice the lack of the "s" on the end of president? Anybody who responded with more than one president's name, I simply took the one they appeared to hold in the highest regard. If they seemed to treat them all fairly equally, I just took the first name I saw. Plenty of people said Washington, but only one of them mentioned him and only him in their post/considered him the best/wrote his name first in their post.

Teddy. Conservationist and worked to prevent companies from perverting the framework of capitalism.

Eisenhower almost got my vote though. If purely for his quote about the industrial complex. Oh, that and the highway system.

I'm of two minds about Eisenhower. Statements on the Military/Industrial Complex make him brilliant. The highway system (at least when it was allowed to cut through cities instead of connecting them) did as much damage as it did good. Read Andreas Duany.

I'm a bit surprised as well. But I just did a quick search, and it appears that I, and sazerac, were the only ones to explicitly name Washington as first. And sazerac's post went up only seven minutes before Zawisza posted the count, so I can see how it got missed.

To the new poll-
Cleveland, hands down.

And not ONLY because I'm Browns fan. :mrgreen:
