Just post the name of your favorite president and I'll post a poll later with the top ten most listed options.

If you want to, go ahead and post why you think they kick ass; maybe this'll generate some interesting debate. :)

Obama.
Second, a tie between Clinton and FDR.

_______

First: Dwight D. Eisenhower

second place JF Kennedy

The Roosevelts. Most days it's Teddy for his singular vision of Americanism, but when I spend a lot of time thinking about the Depression or World War II, I think about FDR's forceful leadership.

Dwight D. Eisenhower=His tough stance on illegal aliens and initiating the "inter-state highway system".

Calvin Coolidge=Introducing programs to reduce size of government.

The interstate highway system destroyed nearly all the public transportation systems in this nation; destroyed many inner-city neighborhoods; and created America's dependence on foreign oil.

If it was left with just connecting cities as was its original mandate, it would have been great. Instead, it became a way to commute through cities and it cut through once thriving neighborhoods and destroyed them; allowed people to move further and further from work so they could whine about their commutes.

My hometown of Indianapolis once had one of the best public transportation systems in the world. It now has one of the worst.

Also keep in mind that Eisenhower's SecDef was the former chairman of GM; so it's a perfect example of Corporatism and industry control of government.

Our future alien overlords, definitely the best. :)

Seriously though, the more I learn about our Presidents both past and present, the more I dislike, practically, all of them.

At the moment, none of the above.

Unless I've missed something, it is a web of connected cities.

World traveler are you?:) Not sure what you mean specifically, but if inner city transportation, you will need to find another source to blame.
dependence on foreign oil
If you look hard enough, you can find numerous sources for the dependence on foreign oil.

It is hard to think of just one Favorite President. There are many.

Thomas Jefferson, James Polk, Calvin Coolidge, Ronald Reagan.

Clinton is the best one I have experienced in my lifetime.
Than Obama
Than George Bush (the older)
Than Reagan
Than Carter
Than George Bush (the younger)

Eisenhower.

He was born in Denison, Texas, and was prez when I was born. +plus, he was a world war II hero.

Abraham Lincoln
Franklin Roosevelt
Teddy Roosevelt
Thomas Jefferson
George Washington

How can anyone like Thomas Jefferson & FDR? That'd be like liking Guns & Roses and Flock of Seagulls.

Thomas Jefferson, because he's also my favorite founding father.

1) Lincoln for freeing the slaves, and bring back the Confederates states in too The t States of America again.

2.) John F Kennedy/Lyndon B Johnson For giving the African Americans a chance at the same rights as other people. And for pissing of Castro, and the Mafia so badly during both of their administration's. Rest in Peace John F Kennedy may you find peace where you where sent too.

3.) Franklin Roosevelt He got elected almost four times as president to run our country, and the fact that he got us through THE great Depression, and War world two.

4.) Thomas Jefferson For giving us, Public schooling, and the deceleration of independence, and the Constitution. Also the Bill of rights. He would be up in the number one spot for me in a tie with Lincoln, if I had not read about his views about Intellectual women. ;)

Accuse me, I love Thomas Jefferson for giving us public schooling, and the fact that he crafted the Constitution, and bill of rights ect.

And the fact, if you read about Franklin Dlenor Roosevelt you see why we like him in the first place. He was elected four time in office, and the fact he got us through the great depression, and also got us through war world two this is why we like FDR.

I am going to leave out of consideration those before my life, simple because I do not know enough about them to really judge. I am tempted to say Jefferson, but most of the reason why are things from before he became president.

During my lifetime, I would go with Clinton and Ford. During the Clinton years, things where good. He certainly does not get all the credit, but he has to get some. Ford took office in the worst possible way, and showed a sense of honor and integrity that really was needed from the office at the time. He sacrificed any chance of getting re-elected to do the right thing and pardon Nixon. Doing the right thing despite the cost is the sign of a good person.

1. Lincoln
2. Washington
3. Jefferson
