You have 2 comedians on there you are passing off as liberals. Probably 90% of comedians, and 95% of the funny ones are liberal. I could never be a conservative myself because I love to ridicule, and its so easy to ridicule them. ;)

I am just being a smart ass. If you put up a list of conservative media figures, none of them will be funny. You put up a list of liberals, and half of them are comedians. It was just an observation on my part, nothing more.

This has been proved time and time again.

Going back to the original topic, as the poll is showing I think most thinking people, liberal and conservative, find Al Sharpton to be a borderline-racist jackass, if not worse.

So are Dennis Leary, Drew Carey, Adam Sandler, Leslie Nielsen.

Bob Hope was pretty funny, too.

And if their success is a measure of their comedic talent, I can pretty much guarantee the guys from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour are conservatives, too.
 
Al Shaprton is the man I despise on this poll. However most of the rest of these people are pundits which all are people who get paid to spout off things about the otherside. However Al Shaprton is nothing but a racist jackass, and I don't consider him a liberal by any means.

Let's break it down:

1. Jon Stewart is a great social commentator, pointing out clear hypocrisy across the board, not only in politics, but nearly everything else.

2. Olbermann is placed as essentially an opposite to the Fox News loons, and he himself is a loon. Way over-the-top.

3. Maddow is likely the most rational. Period.

4. Matthews is almost as crazy as Olbermann. Too extreme.

5. You can't get past a conversation involving Bill Maher without the guy spewing his atheism bakwas. Its gotta stop somewhere.

6. Al Sharpton has a wallet full of race cards in his back pocket. He isn't a progressive or even a liberal, he is out for himself, or he pops out of nowhere when anything is said about blacks. I dislike him the most.

Progressive is a misnomer, I find nothing "progressive" about government intrusion and statism.

How is it a strawman? From transfats, cigarettes, anti-2nd amendment nonsense, to wanting to raise my taxes and make me pay for others healthcare. Its exactly what I stated. And I find nothing progressive about it.


I also suggest you not engage in name calling, it makes your argument look weak, and I don't think I'll be putting up with it today.

It's a straw man argument because you are making progress and statism synonymous, which i would hope would be an easy argument for you to win.

Have you looked at ctj.org, 95% of Americans had a tax decrease under the Obama administration?

Incorrect, I am making the idea that liberalism as seen in todays US politics is anything but progressive when it seeks to control different aspects of our lives as I pointed out in my previous post.

Please explain to me about how liberals want to control different aspects of your life and authoritarianism is solely a leftist concept. :2wave:

Salt control
Soda contol
cell phone control
income control
