I'm feeling quite loopy today, so I picked rootabega.

Realistically, he's confused, and as a result of his popularity he had resorted to shock-based and fear-based "journalism."

He is an entertainer, plain and simple. I find like less than 5% of his material actually meaningful, like his problems with banks and big government. However, most of what he says is just to attract viewers, which is fine, its America after all.

Here's the problem, when people start to actually take his stuff to heart and spew it all over the country. So I don't have an issue with him personally, he can do what he wants within bounds of reason (that's debatable) and the law. I have more of an issue with how many more educated Americans fall into his mind-traps.

Regardless, the longer he is treated like a legitimate political threat, the more he will continue to piss off liberals.

Im not sure if Beck actually believes everything or most of what he says or if he's basically putting on a show for the camera to make money.

Either way, it scares me because people like him are the proverbial oil slick on the political road. They screw up any attempt at civil politics because they have to escalate it and turn it into a school-yard name calling match and they flat ignore information that is deleterious to their position.

I have no idea what his motivations are, but I think people like him, Limbaugh, Olberman, Jesse Jackson etc etc need to sit quietly in the corner and let the adults handle politics because they dont seem mature enough to do so.
