Flat tax of no more than 15%.

Poor (must be defined) pay 3-5% no matter what. They are also targeted by Local, State and Federal improvement programs that already exist for training/skill building to get a better job. The purpose of these programs would be to raise the poor into the "rest of the population" category.

The rest of the population pays 10% flat. No exceptions.

Company's, LLC's, S/C Corporations pay, 15% - no exceptions and regarless of size, market, etc.

Very simple. Tax revenue's would rise, and we'd slow the "nickle & dime" us to death taxes on every product / service / function.

I would simplify it somewhat

A flat tax on all income (including gifts, dividends, rental income, inheritance) above a certain level. No deductions for anything

You can eliminate corporate taxes, but any benifits that employe's get that are paid for by the company are classified as income for the employee.

So a business trip that is paid for by the company is not taxed unless the person flies in first class, and stays in a 5 star hotel. If the employees stays at the hotel longer for a bit of vacation time the return trip is classed as income.

This would be needed to prevent people from using corporations as a means to support their lifestyle while avoiding paying tax

Yes -- from each accrding to his means to each according to his needs.
Thanks, Karl.

Its not MY responsibility to improve anyone's life, except mine, and only then if I choose to do so.

Why should one person have the right to impose duties on others without any benefits in return

In other words why should i have to pay for someone else's decision to breed etc>

I shouldn't

your father has brothers and sisters who are millionaires and you and he live on 13k a year? what kind of jobs do you have? are you in school?

Correct, I am self employed commodity broker who has taken a major hit with the poor economy. I once made a six figure income (2003-6) but as things slowed and the people around me lost thier jobs I felt privledged making a small income over no income and simply learned to live with what we have. I suspect things will get better with time.

My father (for most of his life) earned upper middle class wages but did not invest or save his earnings and had no future planning. I now care for him as his health leaves him unable to work. (extensive heart disease, several major heart attacks).

Because they work hard and shouldn't have to pay a higher percentage than others. We punish success by forcing the rich to unfairly pay more percentage wise than the average person. Why should the government be allowed to confiscate their money at a higher rate than others?
Why is expecting someone to pay more because they have more a punishment?

We dont seem to have a problem charging non-senior citizens more money than senior citizens.

That isn't much of an answer. one is a discount, the other is punishment

Liberals use the wealth of the industrious as a campaign issue and as a means of buying the votes of the slothful

Most of the wealth of the "industrious" is gotten by the sweat of the "slothful".

The "slothful" don't sweat, genius. That's why they're slothful.

Yes, and as long as the hard working pencil pushers can keep the "slothful" rate over 10%, their hard work pays so much more.

What the hell are you even talking about? Ten percent of what??

LOL-yeah crack heads having 5 kids by the age of 19 are making me rich

One of the tenets of reactionary parasitic statism is the myth that if you live within the same geopolitical area as others you have a just claim on their wealth

Isn't the so-called "slothful" the unemployed? And the more power the "industrious" have over the "sloths", the more wealth they get from their sweat.

this sounds like something Joe Hill would spew but it is devoid of a factual basis or a rational foundation.

its like saying poor golfers make Tiger Rich because he wins tournaments they cannot

So you're saying the industrious are getting money from people that are unemployed? How would a person get much money from someone who is unemployed.

That is really, really stupid. Yet, I have every confidence that you will be able to raise the stupid bar you've just set in your next post.

It's the whole zero-sum-game theory of economics: that there's a pie of finite size, and some have a big slice and others have almost nothing.

The fact is that the actions of interpreneurs, inventors, and yes even capitalists make the pie bigger for everyone.

Why is asking someone who has more to pay more a punishment? People keep repeating this but they wont explain it.

It punishes economic success.

I didn't think that needed explaining ...

So when a court fines you and takes away your money that's not punishment either?

Again, why is it PUNISHMENT?

That's a response to a crime and something levied on anyone who commits one.

If I have money taken from me it matters not if its by a criminal court or a criminal bunch of bureaucrats. The net is the same

Are you playing dense or merely contrarian? what extra do I get for being a top 1% tax payer that you do not get?
