If he has sufficient data, as he claims, he can debate this issue as well or better than you can. :naughty

You're quite right. I can, but that doesn't mean I will attempt to debate with just anyone. The guy in question doesn't seem like he's serious about the issue. Rivrrat, while we agree about hardly anything, KNOWS how to debate. Perhaps you do too, although I've not debated with you before now. Peace! And see you later.

I do but I'm very lazy. We may debate at some point in the future, because I'm sure we disagree on many things. I don't mind disagreeing but I like things to be civil.

I'm very serious, but I wouldn't debate a Euro about what goes on in Euroland. I don't live there, and I have a proclivity to distrust random internet articles. Peace!

Your ahem, white. What do you know about my culture I don't already know?

I am sure a lot or you would not be looking up to Bill these days..

Yea it says I know the difference between a black and a nigga. I also know the difference between a redneck and a white person.

So what does your statement say about you???

You know it is really good you have some pics in your profile because you are coming off as an angry White man..

It only works if people are venting about rational things to begin with. When everyone is playing the victim and race cards, then acting in every bit as racist as the people they're pointing fingers at, it's not venting, it's ridiculous.

That's what a lot of the "black community" does, especially their supposed spokesmen.

Do you really think this is playing victim? Do you really think this is playing the race card? If you think this? Then you are not very aware of your surroundings here in the so called "Melting Pot" :(

Hmm, let's see here.

PhD
Best-selling author
Comedian who always performed clean
Self-made millionaire through legal means
Proponent of culpability and self-responsibility

Yup, I can see why he's ostracized by his own people. Black culture is the same culture that states when a black person speaks intelligently, eloquently, and with clear inflection he's "talking white".

For most white people I know, being called a "thug" or a "pimp" is derogatory. For most blacks I know, it's a moniker of respect.

Speaks volumes, huh.

Do you think any of that means anything to me? Sure it used to back in the day when Bill was on the right side. Now he is just an old man with no clue.

I'm sure that when education, employment and social preferment become merit-based and discrimination on the basis of race/gender and orientation cease, so will AA. Until that day, far in the future, it will still have a role to play.

Well Said! The people here in this thread fighting this? They will probably never get it. :(

I bet ya some of the racist people posting in this thread have a big problem with Native Americans. A racist is a racist!

I am sure a lot or you would not be looking up to Bill these days..

Yea it's tough looking up to hard working successful people. :doh

You know it is really good you have some pics in your profile because you are coming off as an angry White man..

Well that is a fallacy argument, so it will get no place.

He is not doing a lot these days? But going on shows to rant about young people, rappers, etc? Dried Up comes to mind:)

Well rappers and young people who call females "bitches and "Ho's" set such a good example for our young black men. And you then mention sexism?

Stop the personal attacks and let's stay on the topic.

Rap is just like the hippies that did rock n roll back in the day. Haters gonna hate no matter what. Don't hate and appreciate the artform that is rap.

ETA: I hardly think someone that calls women the c word has any right to judge anything much less call out rappers.

If you want to call some guy with his pants hanging down to his ass crack and a wall clock on his chest an artist, you are free to. If you want to call some guy talking about "busting a cap in a nigga's ass" art, you are free to.

I will stick to old Motown. When the music still had some soul and the artists were just that.

And no they are nothing like the "hippies" back in the day. They had talent. They sang a song without all the swearing and violence in the lyrics.

ETA? Estimated Time of Arrival?

I don't do it in front of thousands of young people. ;)

And again with the personal attacks.

Gonna call women the "c" word and then have a problem with rappers? Honey Please.

Ok. Cap.. Sorry:( I will behave.. Promise.

My finger is right on top of the "smite" button on my keyboard... and I'm not planning on logging off for a while, so WATCH IT. ;)

Getting back to the issue of A.A. I simply cannot wrap my head around the "why" have an issue with it. Lots of people in this thread have made good points and ones I have heard before but it does not change the reality that AA is needed.

Why can't people understand it is needed? I think think this is the main reason WHY it is still needed is because people do not understand we still have racism.

AA is not needed because it is causing the racial divide to widen. It is saying blacks, hispanics and women cannot compete on an equal playing field.

No one is saying no racism exist, we ARE saying it is no longer an obstical.

That is unless you want to sit on your lazy ass and not go out and work hard for what you want. No reason in this country exist anymore. Not even racism or sexism can stop you if you really want it. I and thousands, no millions of successful Hispanics, blacks and women etc. prove this every single day.
