Its called a counterpoint.

That is called a personal insult. It's what people resort to when they have nothing better.

nimrod was a great hunter

how is that an insult?

Clearly, Harvard thought differently. And clearly, they were correct.

so you were saying they let him in figuring a guy who was below all the white students was gonna become president of the law review?

now that is truly funny

its like the olympic coach picking a third stringer from the UCLA track team who never broke 4.15 in the mile and then claiming to be a genius because three years later the fellow medals at the games.

Harvard, regardless of affirmative action being included in the process, is a very hard place to get into. Obama would still have had to go through the entire application process, and the interview. I really don't know how to do this, but if you can prove that Obama's resume, and interview, were of lower quality then someone else who applied to Harvard law the same year, and the other person didn't get in, then I'll believe you.

I am sick of hearing from her too. She is shrill and sarcastic. However, she is a fundamentally uninteresting person, so I am sick of hearing about her as well.

Do you know any woman that doesn't sound shrill when she's projecting her voice?

It is the media that is making such a celebrity of her.

I'm not so sure. It seems that the liberal posters here seem to be making quite a fuss over her. I rarely see threads started by conservatives praising her, but there are frequent posts by liberals devoted to Palin-bashing. Any attention is good attention in the world of stardom and politics.;)

You mean like at most playhouses?

I mean at an event with a large crowd that is clapping, cheering, while she's speaking. You have to project into the mic to be heard.

I am not sure what you are getting at, but she is shrill in studio settings as well.

Nah, I don't hear it then. Only when she has to yell to be heard. I can tolerate her yelling over Hillary Clinton's though. UGH!

You are correct, HRC tends to be shrill too.

are you saying he made honors?

Obama's Lost Years - WSJ.com

This 'lost years' thing has been addressed in previous threads but I guess you are still beating the same dead horse:

snopes.com: Barack Obama at Columbia

Although Barack Obama may not have been particularly social or memorable during his years at Columbia, it isn't true that "no one ever came forward from Obama's past saying they knew him, attended school with him, was his friend, etc." Those who have attested to having daily personal experience with him during his time at that school include:

* Friend and roommate Sohale Siddiqi, whom the Associated Press located and interviewed in May 2008.

* Roommate Phil Boerner, who provided his recollections of sharing a New York City apartment with classmate Barack Obama to the Columbia College Today alumni publication and the New York Times in early 2009.

* Michael L. Baron, who taught the year-long honors seminar in American Foreign Policy that Barack Obama took during his senior year at Columbia and recalled in an NBC interview Obama's "easily acing" the class and receiving an A for his senior paper on the topic of nuclear negotiations with the Soviet Union.

Likewise, other external evidence documents Barack Obama's presence at Columbia from 1981-83, including:

* An article by Barack Obama published in the 10 March 1983 edition of Columbia's Sundial school magazine.

* A January 2005 Columbia College Today profile of Barack Obama as a Columbia alumnus.

* A Columbia College press release from November 2008 identifying him as "the first College alumnus to be elected President of the United States."

Columbia College Today

Now I'm not really sure what you're trying to suggest without much evidence. That there not being much academic information on Obama prior to his entering Harvard means he got in because he was black or that 'affirmative action' directly was responsible for him getting into harvard. Either way you've yet to provide any substantial evidence that either is the case. A Washington Journal hit piece that is full of assumptions is pretty weak.

I am, I wish she'd shut up and go get a life.

What are you talking about? She has a pretty good and very profitable life. Its unfortunate that she makes money saying things when she really has nothing intelligent to say, and annoying most of us while doing so. At least Tina Fey can't get enough Sarah.

Moderator's Warning:
Turtle Dude and repeter. The baiting and insults stop NOW.

I think Palin is a big negative for the Republicans. She is self-serving and is hurting the party as a whole.

I, for one, am. Who else is?

I've stopped listening to her. I don't like blathering idiots (which is why I can't listen to Fox News), I think listening to Palin just encourages your brain cells to off themselves.

now hold on......then why did you bring her up?

;-)

I am a liberal, therefore it is in my blood!

That and she was all over a news aggregation site I like to visit.
