Will Sarah Palin decide to run for President in 2012? Please give an explanation for your answers.

Holy cow, I hope not. She is a moronic drama queen that would be horrible for this country.

I think some on both sides of the political spectrum would like to see it... for completely different reasons. Some conservatives would like to because they see her as a small government conservative, who can be popular enough to win. Some liberals would like to because they see her as a horrible candidate that would guarantee that their candidate wins.

Me? I wouldn't like to see it. I don't think she's qualified enough, and I think there are far better candidates that the GOP could nominate.

I said she will possibly run. I like her conservative values. I dislike how she's campaigning for McCain who clearly isn't conservative, but I enjoy how she gets people excited at her speeches. I think she would be a fun person to hang out with, but she's not my choice for the nomination. I actually don't really have a choice yet.

Like Romney? It seems like it's his time to get it.

Maybe. I think whoever it is has to stay somewhat non-controversial, but present strength at the same time.

He's going to have problems on the right with his health care plan in MA.

Yup. That's a BIG problem for him. Moderates might accept him, but the more conservative probably won't. Shame. I think he'd be a pretty good candidate.

I would certainly vote for him over Obama, but he isn't as conservative as I'd like. I get the feeling that Obama is going to ditch Biden.

Dear sweet gods above I hope so, the comedy value alone would be worth seeing it

What makes you say that?

See that is the exact reason I don't want her to run. It will turn into a huge joke and nothing important will be said.

Every campaign needs some comedy relief.

You should have been here during the '08 election. On one side you had the conservative pro-Palin "fanboys" and on the other you had the liberal anti-Palin "haters". Neither group made any sense whatsoever and just made any discussion about Palin a joke and a farce... and a moderation problem. One reason I usually DESPISE Palin threads.

Because he's a loose cannon. I really have nothing to base this on so it's totally just speculation, but I don't think Obama likes Biden much. I can just imagine him rolling his eyes and/or getting really upset with Biden's stupid statements. Just a thought.

Oh I can only imagine. Between her and Glenn Beck people seems to de-evolve into NO MY SIDE IS RIGHT creatures. Why I tend to avoid threads about either.

She might. If she feels her base has grown large enough to run again for the party nomination, she certainly will. However, if she wins the GOP's nomination, she will lose to President Obama. She will get next to no votes from the more moderates people, IMO.

Personally, I like Biden, and would have preferred him at the top of the ticket than Obama... who had far too little experience for me.

It was FAR worse around here back then.

Agree. She runs? She is gonna lose. I hope like hell she runs. :2razz:

No, she will not. She's not qualified and she knows it. Any chance she had in 2012 was shot the moment she resigned as governor.

Romney will run, and lose. IMO, it'll be either Pence, Gingrich, Pawlenty, or Daniels. Though of course someone else might also unexpectedly come into the picture.

The nations infrastructure, what holds this nation together, was graded a D- a few years ago. This is no laughing matter.

I suppose she could be foolish or arrogant enough to run. But I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she knows better.
I voted not likely.

Will she run? Probably. Will she win? Almost certainly not. She is more polarizing than Obama...that takes some doing.

I think Romney gets thrown out there unless Obama looks really weak, which considering the economy should be in decent shape by then is unlikely. The rest are better off waiting and not facing an incumbent. All that assumes you are right and Palin does not run.
