Well, you're forgetting the corporate welfare that politicians on the Right perform with their no-bid contracts and wasteful spending on defense contractors and military spending. These government contractors rely greatly on the Pentagon and Congress to keep them afloat. I think the military-industrial-congressional complex is just as corrupt as welfare entitlements. Until more conservatives get onto their politicians about corporate welfare, I don't see them as any different as politicians who endorse social welfare.
what exactly is corporate welfare. I hear that term alot and it has no real meaning
some say this is corporate welfare--a city offering tax abatement to a corporation contemplating building a factory in that city. That is not welfare-its called a negotiation. The city gets jobs, payroll taxes, and workers (who support other businesses such as diners near the new factory) which the city fathers believe is worth more to the city than "lost" tax revenues that would not exist unless the company built the factory in the first place
another example is say the owner of a NFL football team telling the current city in which it is located to help finance another stadium or the team moves to a teamless city willing to do so. That's not corporate welfare, that is again a quid pro quo
what do we get by subsidizing sloth and dependency? what do I get by paying lots of taxes so some 19 year old can have her 5th child with her 4th boyfriend? NOTHING-what i get is more crime and more dem voters voting for those who promise them more of my money
