The TEA Party stands for "Taxed Enough Already," but I'm not sure what the Coffee Party stands for... besides bigger government, of course.
Is there a reason for naming it "Coffee Party" other than as a counter-attack to the growing Tea Party Movement?
I don't get it... Obama reduces people's taxes and they want more reductions? I have a question for you... pick one... reduce our federal deficit or reduce taxes? Either you pick one or you find a middle ground. You can cut programs all you want, but those programs supply jobs to people so when you cut programs you lose jobs. You reduce taxes, you have less revenue to pay for government, so the deficit and debt goes up. Good for job creation in the public sector though. Increase taxes and less public jobs are able to be created, but the deficit goes down. Stop creating government funded jobs and people will say the government isn't doing enough. Spend too much and other people say the government is spending too much. But no matter what, this government problem has been long coming and for what ever reason people are choosing to speak out in mass now... when we have trillions of dollars of debt. Good timing...
Where does the Coffee party say "all our problems are solved through bigger government"? No. Our current government is the problem... stalemates! No one is willing to give more than an inch... bills go unfunded (the left and right are to blame for this)... no one is capable of talking with one another in a respectful manner anymore. Rhetoric is spewed from the left and the right insulting each other, as you can see from any conservative who attempts to bash liberals (which has already happened multiple times in this thread alone) or if you watch either Fox News or MSNBC.
I have been using forums for years now, and 4 out of 5 times when I have seen partisan insults being flung around, it is conservatives insulting liberals. You know what conservatives, you're not the only ones in this country. So you better get used to dealing with the middle and the left or none of your goals will be achieved. A middle ground ALWAYS needs to be met. And clearly right now in government neither side is willing to meet at that middle ground.
The point of the Coffee Party is to come together and solve the problems in government. Not insult the other side. Not deem other people's opinions irrelevant because they contrast with one's own opinions. Those of you who think liberals are always wrong, this party is clearly not for you. Go join the Tea Party and act like it's liberals and conservatives coming together peacefully. I call B.S. Everything I've heard from the Tea Party is conservative ideas. Small government, less taxes, more market control, "Obama is a Socialist", "stay out of my health care",...
I agree with some of the Tea Party's ideas, but not with the way they express those ideas.
But at least the Coffee Party is focusing on public relations and getting along to get things done rather than repeating everything said on Fox News, even if the things being shouted do reflect their opinions. What good will come from insulting opponents and calling them Socialists or Anti-American? All it will do is make them not want to deal with you.
