It is a bodily fluid and should be treated as spitting etc.

I think that you should spend a day working in a jail, get to experience what the average correctional officer does, and see if your opinion changes. Being a correctional officer is, hands down, one of the crappiest dirty jobs on earth.

Yes, but they signed on for it....;)

I'd definitely rather be punched in the face than squirted with breast milk. But that's just me.

I'd rather be squirted with breast milk--it's a lot less painful...and much more sweeter tasting than the blood from a busted nose or lip. :)

True. but they shouldn't have to put up with being pissed and spit on. Of course, we know why you are less than sympathetic. ;)

Why am I less than sympathetic?.....
Feel free to elaborate.....
I don't think they should be allowed to be spit on, etc......
I also don't think it should be a felony if they do.....;)

We live in an age where Hepatitis and many other diseases can be spread by spitting or breast milk among other things. We tend to forget that by simply touching our nose after touching someone or something else we can give ourselves a virus.

This is serious for anyone that works with the public and really should not be acceptable.

This morning, while driving and tuning on to the radio, music talk broadcasters were ridiculing the lady for the misdemeanor. As I was thinking about it, I would consider someone splashing a carton of milk at a cop as a misdemeanor as well. Definitely not necessary.

Comparing a carton of homogenized vitamin D cow milk, to out of the human body breast milk is like comparing cooked bacon to uncooked bacon.

With uncooked bacon the chance of worms or worse is very high. The chance of anything with the properly cooked bacon? 0.

BZZT WRONG!!! The chance of yum with cooked bacon is in the high 90s.

She deserves whatever charges are filed against her. What a classless (and illegal) thing to do. I see no difference between someone using their hand to assault me or someone using a fluid. Throwing water at someone can be deemed assault.

Cardiovascular disease and higher rates of cancer...

Great, I am surrounded by comedians.

APS, why are all your responses so over the top? So the next time a kid shoots people with a water gun they should be arrested?

It's over reactions like yours that give us the stupid zero tolerance laws.

Bodily fluids are considered assault for a reason, they can carry diseases etc. Some like AIDS, can be fatal.

Nothing funny about the health problems caused by bacon.

Consumer Warning: Processed Meats Cause Cancer

Processed meat consumption results in 67% increase in pancreatic cancer risk, says new research

Consuming processed meats increases the risk of pancreatic cancer, says new research conducted at the University of Hawaii that followed nearly 200,000 men and women for seven years. According to lead study author Ute Nothlings, people who consumed the most processed meats (hot dogs and sausage) showed a 67% increased risk of pancreatic cancer over those who consumed little or no meat products.

It depends upon how the water is used. How about a super soaker to the face of a guy who is politicing a protest?

That would be an assault by the legal definition.

This argument has not been so much about the delivery as where it is coming from and what it is.

The assault is not because of the water, it is because of the high pressure delivery with the intent to disrupt.

Let me just say that having a shot of breast milk in the eye would be pretty damn disruptive, and I'm quite certain that was the inmate's desire.

My response is over the top? I"m not going to do research for you. If you touch another person's body with an object, that's assault, whether it's a gun, a hand, your penis, a balloon filled with water. It's not a difficult concept.

But call my answer whatever you need to to make yourself feel better.

I know, so what? You did read what I posted correct?

This has literally nothing to do with my point or this thread.

Please buy a clue.

I'm glad to see your obnoxiousness isn't limited to me. Grow up, Blackdog. Seriously.

Again with the over the top response.

Yes your response is.

So you would like to see children arrested for hitting each other with water balloons? If you bump me in an elevator I know have the right to defend myself?

Yes APS, over the top.

PS I don't need you to research anything for me. I know the law probably as well as you or better considering I was an LEO.

Yes. And I feel the breast milk incident should have been charged as a felony assault.

And so do I, and I said so based on the fact it is a bodily fluid and can transmit diseases etc.
