I mean really. It has been going on for days and pushing other events off. They haven't covered a single Hockey match yet. I want Hockey! I want more coverage of Alpine events!

Figure skating and snowboarding are the only reasons I watch the Olympics.

I dislike the Olympics as a whole institution. I flat boycotted the last summer olympics

Figure skating is probably the most popular event.... don't they have other sub-channel/stations that carry the other events?

No, I like women in leotards.

Figure skating is awesome, especially the Men's skating and the Pair's skating. I also enjoy watching parts of the ski jumping, luge and bobsled events, snowboarding, biathalon, and hockey.

Snowboarding!? Don't get me started on snowboarders! ;) They keep pushing all the snow off the mountain. What a bunch of punks!

I like hockey, downhill, super g, combined, giant slalom, slalom, and freestyle moguls. They barely show those, just showing the top 5 racers in those downhill events and just the final matches in hockey.

I haven't seen any alternate channels showing coverage, unforrtunately.

I did watch the womens long routine figure skating last night. I just don't get it. They all do the same routine.

I worked ski patrol on my board for years, so don't let me catch you out there disin' on my homies. ;)

The olympics might have used to stand for something, but now its just an orgy of advertising and silly national rivalries.

I don't mind watching women's figure skating because, from the neck down at least, they're usually insanely hot. But I do agree that it seems to be on a lot more often than any of the other events.

Curling is like on as much as figure skating..

Hockey and snowboarding are the only things I'll watch.

If they gave the gold for best rack, the Georgian who got 9th would have won hands down.

Edit: This is why I'm not a figure skating judge. First, none of the contestants would be under 18. I have to wait too long for them to give the age before I can have any dirty thoughts. Then it would be about how much bouncing could be done while jumping and such on the skates.

The Canadian broadcast coveres everything. I have 5 channels to choose from.

Figure skating what?

I've been watching Hockey and Curling - never gets old!

Start watching to see when they fall, that's all my husband does, then he laughs.;)

You're right though, it is a drag. I believe women love it, that's why it's so popular.

Rivrat, I knew you were trouble, but little did I know... ;) I should have gone to Deer Valley where they only allow skiers to use the slopes.

You know what I hated most when I worked patrol on the mountain? The silly skiers who tried to be like snowboarders and went through the terrain park, taking jumps without knowing how and ending up with broken bones, concussions and dislocated joints. Not to mention all of the equipment strewn across the slope. As soon as someone said "There's a skier in the park", I knew something ugly was about to happen. We allowed skiers in there, but mostly for our amusement. ;)

LOL! I think I tried it once, skiing up the side of a half-pipe and instantly knew I didn't know what the hell I was doing. Luckily, I landed without any tricks and skied on. Since, I have avoided it for the most part, or only to ski through without taking any terrain as a friend boarded through a park. He's a punk, too. :)

I have gone off a few prepared jumps, for skiers, years ago. The best I have managed is a 360 helicopter - no flips for me. I stick to the flat blues and blacks and avoid the moguls at this point. I am just not in good enough shape anymore. :(

Eh, I wasn't a big trickster either. Something about having that blazing red patrol jacket on makes one want to be just a tad more conservative so as not to embarrass oneself. LOL One of the better spills I took was in the terrain park, with the jacket on, right under one of the main lifts. I got shouts of scores from the lift folks, and bonus points for busting my ass in a ski patrol jacket. ;) I rode out of the park with my head hung in shame. Would have been a great jump... if I'd landed on my board instead of my head. ROFL

And I HATE moguls. The only time I went down moguls was to open/close a slope or drag someone off of it. Try going down a black diamond mogul hill on snowboard, and pulling a sled behind you with a 250 lb person in it. Fun, fun. LOL

Not sure where you live, but we have like 400 channels to choose from...not counting the porn channels. So...like...change...the...channel maybe?

I saw that you like hockey and not figure skating...but my guess is they put the figure skating on because you are not their majority viewing audience. They are pretty smart when it comes to that whole marketing thing...

I am so tired of this cold dark winter that I can't bring myself to watch. I'm usually a total Olympics freak. I just want to see people swimming in the hot sun.

Brutal! LOL!

That would be tricky. That could easily be me - 240 lbs - and I would probably injure myself on a black diamond mogul run too!

I used to love moguls. Double black-diamonds for me!! Of all the resorts I have been too (Mt Snow, Killington, Snowshoe, Snowmass/Aspen, Steamboat, Breckenridge, Vail, Chamonie, Courmayeur, Innsbruck, St Moritz, Zermatt, Cortina d'Ampezzo and now Parc City) the absolute best for hardcore skiing was A-Basin. 75% black diamond/double black-diamond. My legs were killing me at the end of that trip!

The best all around resort was Cortina d'Ampezzo!!
