socialism is a faith based ideology. So is Obamunism. It is a belief system incapable of rational evaluation.

You had to go there, didn't you.socialism is a faith based ideology. So is Obamunism. It is a belief system incapable of rational evaluation.
no I think a lot of the bible has a lot of very strongly presented pro-proletarian attitudes. Christians should be Communists. But they tend to focus on the 5% of the bible regarding genital conduct rather then the 95% regarding helping people.
Communism is directly opposed to the idea's of Christ. He was no communist, and did not teach anything like it.
Yeah, I kind of see him as libertarian-type myself.
This means that most of the political spectrum could be applied. It all hinges on how one would like to be treated. Most importantly we are taught to love God above all things and to love our fellow man and treat him as we would like to be treated.
I'd say it's sad that politics and religion are growing apart. The poison of secularism is corroding morality and religion has now become disdained by the government. PC has become increasingly anti-Christian and pro-everythingelse. People who hold political belief's because of religious faith are now being branded as ignorant. Secularism is a good thing, but when it becomes poisoned and it becomes anti-faith then there is where problems start to appear.

Yet every study shows the more secular a nation the better it sticks with morality. Your just playing the "everyone picks on the poor christian majority" card here.
Religion and politics have been entwined since well before Christianity. Most cultures were lead by religious leaders at some point.
they've been the subject of more than one thread and I'm sure you could google them.... I'm not bashing chritianity or ant religion at this point just pointing out the blatent falsehood of the previous postI would like to see some of these studies? Think you could post an example?
Very true.
I have always believed that politics and religion are absolutely inseparable. If you truly believe your religion, it should reflect in your voting. For this reason, it is absolutely incomprehensible to me as to why a "Christian" would hold liberal political views. A Christian that believes in gay marriage, abortion, or socialistic policies is not a Christian at all. Period.

Now my precious thread will decend into partisan bickering...
Excellent.
Now that's just stupid. The Bible doesn't mention ANY of those issues.

Evidently, you are one of those "Christians" I referred to earlier.

Then please quote the passage of the Bible that says that abortion, gay marriage, or socialism is wrong.
It can be found right next to the clauses in the constitution that empower the federal government to run health care, ban the possession of automatic small arms and declares abortion is a fundamental right.
Are Politics and Religion becoming one and the same?
By this I mean:
Are political positions and the support they have (in some cases) becoming more belief based than reason based?
