Gore was a joke...Gore actually lost his own state in a presidential election...They are the people who actually know him.....If he would have won there we would have never heard of Florida...

I really don't know why his losing his home state is such a big shiny thing for your ilk. I mean, Tennessee is a red state. Seems pretty clear he would have difficulty and he did. Go masturbate about it and move on.

Because presidential candidates don't lose their home state. Its the stae where they are most popular and Gore got his butt kicked there...You lefties always complained about Fla. but in truth it was Tenn. that cost him the presidency.......

I don't think it's that big of a deal that Gore lost his home state. I mean, his opinion and his state's popular opinion did differ so why would they vote for him?

Why does Gore losing Tennessee matter? He has opposing view points to the popular opinion in the state so why would they vote for him? No one made a big deal out of Texas not voting for Obama yet it's the same situation. His opinions and the state's popular opinions were different. Him being from the state is irrelevant.

You don't have to go back 200 years McGovern lost his home state, Nixon lost New York. New York was his official residency. You said presidential candidates don't lose their homestate well its pretty obvious some have despite your contentions.

He was elected Senator from Tenn a bunch of times as was his dad.....He entered politics from Tenn.

I am saying the vast majority do not..........

You still have yet to explain why it is so bad that a state with a dissenting opinion didn't vote for him. Do you expect a state that disagrees with someone to vote for them?

So you're moving goalposts now. Before you said presidents don't lose their homestate. You were trying to make some relevant point here.

Pappy Bush's dad was a longtime Senator from CT. The Bush family was well known in CT that's not a state he should have lost. We're using your metric here

His dad was a senator from Tenn. for 30 years........He was a senator from Tenn. for 20 years getting re elected from there over and over again.....The people of Tenn are his constituents.......I really don't know how else to explain it to you.......You should win your home state......

In 88 My bush hating from Bush senior won Conn...... In 92 Perot screwed up th whole election causing Bush to lose........

Oh by the way Clinton was from Arkansas and carried it twice.......

You can find exceptions to every rule my left wing friend but generally someone running for prez usually wins his home state........

Repeating yourself over and over again isn't explaining. I don't expect people to vote for someone who has different opinions than them, do you?

There's nothing to say Perot's votes in CT wouldn't have swung either way. CT is a state Bush Sr should have carried regardless. Nice try my extremist friend but I'm not left wing.

Not finding exceptions. You made a statement emphatically and it was wrong.

Look at the states Clinton carried many of them were southern states

Perot took votes away from Bush 1 allowing Slick Willie to win the presidency in 1992...

Clinton was from the south, it makes semse that he would win Southern states........Now lets get back on topic..thanks

Well why did the good people of Tenn. vote for Gore over all those years.....In fact when he ran for Prez he was a seated Senator from Tenn....

Unless you personally interviewed those perot voters there's nothing to say that those voters would have swung either way or just stayed home.

They probably voted for him because he was helping their state. Maybe they thought his policies as President wouldn't help the country.

You know what and exit poll is? The percentages of how people voted in 1992 are public info.......Never mind your not worth the trouble......

Way to add something constructive to the debate.....That is the most intelligent comment you have made since you have been a member here........

Yeah, its so good, its better then anything you've ever said either :2wave:

Yeah I know what an exit poll is and the public information shows that Perot siphoned votes equally from Clinton and Bush. Don't let the facts get in your way though.
