New Year's Day that is.

Just Curious.

.

I spent the first three hours of 2010 hugging a toilet and praying to as many gods as I could think of in hopes that the room would stop spinning.

Don't drink, so this was an easy question to answer.

Not as bad as I thought...considering I'm not much of a drinker anymore.

Not I Efrem, I only drink creme de menthe frappé'.

Its what the pope drinks, no hangovers, but your right arm may stiffen and point at the sky:)

All of my friends had a hangover from the vodka and Everclear. I took some huge bong hits instead. I did take a few shots of vodka with some redbull too, but not enough to give me a hangover. :)

Did you at least get a good case of the munchies? :2razz:

I think I may have drank the equivalent of maybe 5 beers in the entire year of 2009 ....

I chose to stay home to avoid the risk of ending up in a situation like CL recently found Himself in, but even if I'd gone out, I rarely drink.

As I had a marathon in a tough mountain course today, the notion of any drinking so soon before a marathon -- especially any amount that would give one a hangover -- some COMPLETELY out of the question.

This could have been an interesting poll if the results, and the story behind the results, could be compared going back at least 20 years.
The question is - "are we growing up as a nation?" Or "are we regressing?"
A mans sorrows cannot be drowned in alcohol.

 Pass me another drink.

We weren't hungover, but whisky was imbibed (Scottish, you have to bring in the bells with a dram) then champagne was opened and a serious amount of Baileys Irish Cream followed.

Next morning (ok, it was well into afternoon:)) more champagne was tanned, along with the traditional steak pie.

Not I, I don't drink. I started the day feeling refreshed, just like I start every day.

to Lazy to bother going out---done it enough already I guess.

I'm going thru a non drinking phase I guess like the one I went through during college. I've lost all taste for it. I have like a 7up after work to relax.

Pretty much the same here. I used to drink quite a bit, mostly socially. Then one day, a friend took me out for drinks in a bar, I went home, realized just how stupid it all was and how little I really enjoyed any of it and that was the last drink I had in my life. That was more than 20 years ago and I don't miss it a bit.

That's a great story! :2razz:I know too many people that I don't know anymore because they are boring drunks and I avoid them. The friends I have now all used to drink but that has gone out of style. Especially if they have kids. People admire that I don't drink. We all just ordered some ginger lemonades for dinner at a nrw place and enjoyed them a lot. Some vodka would have ruined the health vibe.Good on you!
