Good news is, most people, these days, don't.

Even the cops I fish with say it's just a pain in the butt.

When I stop cars now, I ignore the odor of marijuana in the car unless I look the person im out with up and determine they have a history of larger possession amounts (PWISD or higher).

My bad experiences with the County DA's office has me in a position where I would rather ignore all drug possession laws then try to enforce them.

Pretty much, where I work, the substance has to fall off of you on camera (true story for one of my cases) before it will be bothered with in court.

Of course, I always ask if there are any weapons or drugs in a car on a traffic stop, one time this 18 year old stoner actually told me there were drugs in the car... I kinda felt I had to send a message that the cops actually care (even though I don't) and searched his car, found the dope, and wrote him a ticket for it, added to his speeding charge, and sent him on his way.

Other than that, **** marijuana laws, bigger pain in the ass then they are worth, for something I could care less about anyways.

Now, if the mother ****er is high and driving around, then we have srs bidness.

I once talked to a cop in a forum who was opposed to changing the laws because drug possession was something good (and easy) to hang on a perp who was doing something else, something worse but harder to prove. That didn't seem like a good reason to me.

It's all in the attitude. The way I see it, if an idiot is stupid enough to drive down the freeway tokin' and texting, he deserves a ride downtown.

Give the cops half-a-chance to be cool and they usually will. Give them bad attitude and they will find some way to ruin your day.

But you already know this. ;)

It isn't. Just like a cop pulling you over for "I didn't see your seat belt" and then writing you a ticket for something else, like in some states it is illegal to drive barefoot and if they wanted to write you a ticket for it, they could. It's a cheap ploy but a lot of officers don't use it. HOWEVER, there are few cases where a suspect is committing larger illegal acts, which he may be hiding rather well, and to prevent them from fleeing or hiding evidence, you book them for something lesser like possession and viola, you can get a warrant to try and bag them on the bigger offense. That's the only time I would condone such actions.

Drugs are a great bargaining tool. Toss a gangsta with a sack o' crack and tell him you'll trade his arrest for a gun.

I want marijuana to be legal because I hate being a criminal when compared to cigarette smokers who are addicted to a far more disgusting habit. Brain cells or not, it's not dangerous compared to half the other **** human beings do.

How is cigarette smoking more disgusting than smoking weed?

 The term "Gateway" drug is propaganda. Every couple years you'll hear that X drug is the gateway drug as if each time they do more research they find out a new one

As Bill Maher has said-there is no gateway drug but if there were? It would be BEER!

There is VERY nasty **** in cigarettes. It's like sleeping with a chick from Jersey Shore.

Cigarette smoke is worse, does worse damage to clothing and homes, and will deteriorate your body faster. You are also more likely to light up a cigarette (purchased legally) with more chemicals and addatives in it than if you were to light up a joint (purchased illegally.) That chance lowers for both tobacco and marijuana if you grow it yourself or know the grower. But more often you'll find folks growing their own marijuana than growing their own tobacco to smoke.

It's the paper, mostly. Ruins the flavor and the aroma of the tobacco, because it has this acrid smell to it. If I didn't absolutely loathe the smell of cannabis and the way that it ruins the flavor of tobacco (and everything else), I'd agree that cigarettes are more disgusting.

Everything that's smoked should be smoked from a pipe. Or at least a natural leaf wrapper. I think more appreciation for the aesthetics of things, over the convenience, would improve much of our drug problem.

I usually..er..don't...smoke my marijuana through an ice bong or hooka. Makes it so smooth...and sometimes you can even add flavors that mix well with marijuana's natural scent. but it certainly isn't for everyone. I hated it when I first smelled it, but then grew to love it. :D

Never thought you could smell a dead skunk in the road and go "Ahhhhhhh" did ya?

I've never smelled any like that :S But I have smelled some strooooong ****. Oooooh so good. It's like...piney almost...kind of like some bittersweet sap.

That be Oaxacan.

That's how I prefer my tobacco, but every time I start assembling my hookah at a party every idiot within earshot wants me to put cannabis in it.

There are a lot of flavors I like with my tobacco, but honestly, I can't think of a flavor that would go well with cannabis to improve it. Perhaps a strong mint flavor, but that would be more concealment than anything else. (Of course, I prefer strong mint flavors with my tobacco as well.) Rose petals? Theoretically, if you were to consider doing such a thing, what flavors would you try?

With marijuana I try using oranges or other acidic type fruits. I tried dousing my herb in 100% grapefruit juice and orange juice. It definitely made it interesting but I doubt many people would like it.

As for tobacco in hookahs I prefer apple, or other sweet flavors. Perhaps something like a mango or watermelon would be nice if I could find it.

I prefer mints, flowers, and herbals with mine. Rose, jasmine, licorice, vanilla. I'm not as fond of sweet flavors, especially since I usually have a sweet drink on-hand.

Ahh, lol ironically enough I often have an herbal beverage. mostly tea

Ah, the good ol’ Gateway Drug fallacy. I hadn’t realized that there were people still propagating that bull****. How quaint. Maybe you Gateway Druggers can get together with the Flat-Earthers and the Phrenologists to hold a festival for thoroughly debunked theories.

Ummm... I've seen the gateway drug theory play out in reality. Back when I was in middle school, like 2006ish, my old buddies started smoking pot. They got so infatuated with the drug that they started using it at boy scouts (still better then every morning which they started in high school.) I wasn't interested--probably because of all the anti-drug efforts through my whole life(that stuff really gets ingrained in you) but also my own intuition--but before they went off one of the first times they were trying it at Boy Scouts they tried to convince me to come and that I could just smoke a stoogie or a swisher cuz I didn't want to do pot(Nice structured sentence right there hahaha :). I didn't want to be implicated if caught so I didn't go with them...

Anyway, this is getting too long and I'm too tired to structure sentences. The main kid that smoked too much got caught and kicked out of Boy Scouts. One of my other friends got kicked out of school. Later on in hs all the stoners, basically all the kids I grew up with, started sniffing aderol(some anyway)... I'm talking about doing it for a high, not for study(HAHA! That kid studying? JOKE). Then they ate shrooms, salvia... former kid(kid kicked out of BSA) dips and latter friend(kicked out of grade school) smokes cigs regularly.

Gateway is no "theory," I mean it when I say I've seen it take place. Call it anecdotal but those kids were just normal ****ing kids, more character and smarter than kids from the East Side but just grew up in a totally different culture where they were very vulnerable to drug use. Oh yeah, and the kid that dips and a few other old friends got caught smoking pot by some cops and were finger printed and ****. Yeah... That ****ing sucks. And think if I had said yes back in BSA and decided to enter into that culture. Happy I didn't do that, to say the least.

Mostly true, but there are a few parts of your brain that grow new neurons, like your hippocampus. When you learn new stuff (as opposed to refreshing existing knowledge) your brain stores it by growing new neurons.

You know, the scientific rationale for using weed is the biggest load of crap I've ever heard. Have you ever met a stoner? To say that he is increasing his brain power by using that crap is comical. Not to mention that his social skills are basically put right in the ****ing toilet.

Apple perhaps? In my younger days I would carve an apple up, add a piece of foil with some holes poked in it, and with a few minutes work have an apple bowl. I do recall the apple flavor was noticeable, and was rather tasty :2razz:

Obviously they are not increasing their brain power, and the drug has numerous other less-than-desirable effects. But the fact that it can stimulate new brain cell growth is promising-- not as an excuse for every idiot to smoke cannabis, because frankly they don't need any more excuses, but as the beginning point for research into new therapies.

rubbish. It was not the weed that made them do other drugs. Some people have a propensity to enter altered states, some don't just because the first opportunity for them was weed did not mean the weed did it to them.

I bet they first experimented by spinning in circles and getting dizzy all the time when they were really young.. that is the original gateway buzz.

Few(probably using these drugs themselves but oft forgetting ) are claiming that weed is some psychedelic madman drug that pollutes your mind into wanting to do any and every drug that exists :spin:

And frankly, that's not what the "gateway" theory is. The "gateway" theory claims that people familiarize themselves with recreational drugs by using substances like weed, and then once they see their not being chased by the F.B.I nor are they automatic sociopaths they start going on to doing more hardcore drugs... like shrooms and abuse of over-the-counter.

Essentially, it gives them a phony sense of control over these substances when, while they may initially control their use, they pretty soon are psychologically if not physically addicted to the high these substances provides.

I bet they first experimented by spinning in circles and getting dizzy all the time when they were really young.. that is the original gateway buzz.

One did. He used to hyper-ventilate and I was telling him that probably killed so many brain cells and he laughed. What a tard. I totally forgot about that...

Still, neither of the above mentioned. The one that dips said he did the whole "choking game" bs but I knew even at the time he was just saying it for attention... haha this is funny talking about childhood

I would agree with your evaluation but the problem is that people are using it as an excuse to smoke cannabis and to promote substance abuse. It's pretty digusting and, well, heinous.

Drug abusers always try to legitimize their abuse of substances with "scientific" back-up... the problem is that none of their evidence was acquired empirically. Most of it is picked up either through hearsay or from random and very specific surveys. It's not at all legitimate and is bad influence for kids growing up and being presented with these choices.

I mean, just look at this other guy on the forum right now... He's trying to claim it's some innate drive in some people to get high.

Look: It is not an inevitability for someone to want to abuse drugs. And even if it is, that isn't at all a good reason for them to be using drugs. That's like saying alcoholism is okay because some people are looking to always drink... what a load of nonsense.
