What is so idiotically retarded is that you think that you are informed and we, and I, am not. That is not very egotistical of you at all... ;)

I didnt say YOU or someone else. I said IN GENERAL, THE PEOPLE. "its vital that those people are well informed about the reality.

(as oppose to being exploited as election tools for power greedy career politicians). "

If you actually start reading what I write without prejudice and personal attacks, I would not consider you impolite, and I would probably take more interest in debating with you..

What is even more sad is the people who thanked your post.

Then why are you arguing with ME and telling ME that I am wrong about my views regarding America and Americans when my views align with the average American about America? Sorry buddy... you apparently just can't see how hopelessly out of your depth you are. ;)

Yes. But there is a reason I am on an American forum in the first place. I know I am outnumbered here, by nationalist Americans, flag wavers, agenda followers, people who cant think and so fourth who will no matter what defend America, and claim it is best, and will at the same time always blame things on everyone else, and always put claim to absurd things about America. They will even ignore reality to believe America is best.

I find this quite amazing, and to me its clear proof that the American mainstream, and Americans with above average interest for politics, whom should be better informed, are all under manipulation by some sort of permanent and quite sick agenda.

There are a number of quite informed people here, many who are much more informed than you on America politics. In fact, you have far too many preconceived notions to really be well informed on American politics.

So you admitted that you were wrong with that "yes"? that didn't make sense...

As Redress says, there are more than a few of us that are educated and informed Americans on this forum that you completely dismiss and call, "nationalist Americans, flag wavers, agenda followers, people who cant think and so fourth who will no matter what defend America, and claim it is best, and will at the same time always blame things on everyone else, and always put claim to absurd things about America. There is a reason stupid people will never understand smart people and smart people never understand stupid people..

Yes, I am in minority, almost always. And yes, it can be frustrating, but I deal with it. ;)

Try education. It might help.

The American Political System serves people like Maximus. It serves them better than they would think!

It gives them a sense of purpose.

It gives them hobbies.

More importantly it gives them a lovely potpourri to sniff to take their mind off the smell of what they themselves are knee deep in.

:D

No no no my friend... smart people understand stupid people all too well.

Mine is most likely deeper and broader than yours.

If you deny stupid people has problems understanding smart people then certainly there is something wrong with your interpretation of reality. And also if you deny smart people have problems understanding stupid people, then your interpretation of reality simply lacks depth.

If you think smart people is in majority, then there is something wrong with your logic.

Also, if you think education is synonymous with intelligence then your logic simply fails and is too narrow and you have too little of it.

Its obvious that you have a hatred for our system, Max, the sooner you live up to this, the better - for your peace of mind and happiness.
Our political system is far from perfect, reform is necessary, we simply need many more Americans to care and to participate.
No vote...
If your nation is as corrupt and biased as the poll selections....:3oops:

Our nation is pretty corrupt but what happens is that people don't see it or most likely don't care.

But really how can a man with a white tiger be full of hatred?

I understand you have trouble understanding basic comments, and understanding the US political system. If you are going to comment on it, instead of insulting every one who knows better, you might educate yourself. Ignorance is curable.

You see things in simple ways.. Too bad for you that you just have no idea about what I am talking about. I suggest you try to understand my point instead of doing personal attacks, like you have in all your post.

I can also say you are an uneducated idiot in general, but I dont. Ok?

To be able to properly understand politics for example, it is not only necessary to understand politics, but all other subjects as well, even utopian human morals, or the exchange of gold for money, even warfare. All those kind of things, not only politics or related things, form your understanding of politics and your intepretation of it. Just because you have a poor perspective of things, dont mean other need to have that as well. It could be that you know American politics more technically than me, but I comprehend the reality of politics in America in a far superior way to you.

If you cannot understand other logic than straigh forward logic I do feel sorry for you. Ok?

Let me ask you you two simple questions:

1) Who elects our politicians?

2) Who has the power to elect a different politician if the first one does not do as we choose?

Your problem is you see corruption that is inherent in any political system, and don't see the strengths of the system. There are no flawless systems. Just because a system has flaws does not make it a bad system.

1) Probably mostly the media. Media owners, media leadership, editors, journalists, reporters and so fourth.

On the other hand, it is invalid to not mention money. Money has a major influence, and most of the time when someone is elected, the rich and the corporations, special interests and so fourth are also selecting/electing politicians.

The people are tools, the people are made to believe they rule, and that is the beauty of democracy. It pains to the people the image they want to see, while the reality is different. What better front is there on corruption then the pre-emptive notion that democracy "means that people are in power". While in reality, they are not.

2) The media I would say, but if political scandals they almost have an obligation to report. So in praxis it is the politicias who resign. The people havent thrown a politician out of office in the US to my knowledge. I am probably wrong. But I cannot think of any case where an overwhelming mob/demonstrations have thrown a politician out of office by surpassing the police and washinton security. I cannot remember to ever have read about something like that in modern American history. It probably have happened in America prior to 1850.

No, but reality makes it a bad system.
I see the strenghts of all systems, including communism in China for example.

Americans tend to watch capitalis democracy as the only option. American politics and governance is becoming dogmatic, and always curses other ideas such a socialism or communism or any other alternatives, even as democracy in America is not only corrupted but rotten from the core out.

Just curious as to you opinion about this. Visible multiple choice vote.

I chose corporate America, but in reality that option is too simplistic. The reality is the government serves all special interest groups who have the power and money to send lobbyists and campaign contributions to politicians. The government does serve corporate america first, as they have the most money and lobbyists. But congress will also occasionally throw a bone to other powerful interest groups like religious groups, the AARP, etc. But this is OUR fault. If we actually held our politicians accountable, this would not happen. We have a system which in about a year, if the people of this nation woke up to the fact that the government no longer serves their needs, they could change things almost immediately with no violence or strife. Sadly that will not happen, and congress will continue only to serve corporate interests and big special interests.

I disagree. It does everything it can to hinder people from seeing it, by setting up the me vs them mentality, and convincing people that there is actually a difference in the actions of the 2 parties(the rhetoric of course, the actions, not so much). But apparently you see it. I see it. Everyone else can too. That does not mean they will, I know that they won't.

But there is nothing we can do, is there?

The problem with two parties or even multi parties,(which are increasingly becoming two sided alliances), is that most of their policies are the same, and there is no alternative other than 90% of the same policies of the other party/side.

But what can we do about that? The two party system and democracy is just a way to legitimize corruption and dysfunction, most people cant see beyond it.

The American political system serves those who choose to participate.
The service quality improves when the degree and intensity of participation increases.
Voting is good, but not enough.
Most entries on the INTERNET are, IMO, a waste of time.
Our ability to read, write, and speak must be improved and up-graded.
Other for me; the so-called choices are too controlling...many are outright stupid.

So the media is some monolithic group? I see no evidence of this. The large media conglomerates are too large, and too much of the media is owned by too few people, but to say it is a single force is a vast oversimplification.

The next problem is you fail to understand the importance of the internets as a tool for gathering information, one that is used by an increasingly large number of people, and is far from monolithic. My grandmother, at over 90 before she died, would forward me emails full of(usually false) political information.

You have this idea that you are smarter than every one else, but there is no evidence of this. People love to talk about how dumb normal people are, but far too often, this is simple an exercise to make themselves feel good.

I think Max can be quite intelligent, if he would allow himself to be.
He has a maturity age of a pre-teen-ager...but may be in his late teens or early 20s, at best.
Youngsters(I was one once) have a tendency to be intolerant and to think they possess greater intellect.
Gathering political info is similar to harvesting a crop of wheat from a field that was never "de-weeded", but its much more difficult ..Some weeds are more nutritious than the wheat, other weeds are poisonous..
Thank goodness for PBS...and our government.

I selected the people, and corporate America, even though the second one isn't an accurate reflection of what I was thinking. The military-industrial complex includes corporate America but not just that. Centrally, the government is a polyarchy. I think it used to serve the people a lot more than it currently does. I wish "the banks" was an option in your poll because I think that would be the most accurate.

Politicians mostly serve to passify the people at this point, while doing other things. Not all of them mind you, but a lot of them. Neo-liberalism has really seeped into the modern face of politics.
