I'm sure you've heard this story. They have brought an 89 year old accused Nazi to trial? What do you think of this, considering his advanced age?

The law has no age limit. Put him in a cell with Roman Polanski until his execution.

I think they should limit his punishment to a short interpretive dance of no more than five minutes depicting various dramatic themes from neitzschke's "Der Wille Zur Macht".

Just because some scumbag went into hiding for 60 plus years is no reason to ignore justice.

I feel differently. I think, for one thing, that this man is too old to really be capable of fully participating in his own defense. Is he actually competant? I also think that the Jews need to let go. I think it's time for them to move on, as a people. Yes, there are those who escaped justice in this life. It's good to accept that.

Jesus told us to forgive others. This was because it's something that ultimately benefits us. I think the Nazi hunters need to let go. This man is a very old man and will soon be dead.

Try him. Jail him if guilty.
Age should not be a issue when it comes to justice.

I have zero sympathy for this person. I don't care how old he is or how sick he pretends to be to avoid justice.

Try him, lock him up and make his last days on this Earth as miserable as possible.

Try him as a war criminal

Quit sniveling & get over it......
Turkey has....
Iran says it never happened....;)

We can't even bring recent scumbags to justice as evidenced in the Wa. cop killings....
Let the old **** go & focus on the new....:doh

wouldn't that be the same as the death penalty

Hang him. (then shoot him afterwards)

It doesn't matter. It'll hurt his family. It'll make some people-- maybe a lot of people-- feel better. It won't change what happened. It won't do a thing to stop it from happening again, and it might even inspire someone else to take up the cause.

Probably better to try him and hang him. Ex post facto or not, the law says that former Nazis are to be tried and convicted for their actions-- and the law will not be changed until there are no more Nazis left to hunt.

He was competent to be a war criminal. So his competency now should have no bearing on him facing trial.

I also think that the Jews need to let go.

Why should anyone let this go, the man is a war criminal. These monsters murdered friends ,relatives, children and other loved ones of the survivors of the Holocaust, the jews were not the only victims of the Nazis. If this was a case involving property vandalism then you would have a point that we should let this go.

I think it's time for them to move on, as a people. Yes, there are those who escaped justice in this life. It's good to accept that.

Are you arguing that war crimes should have a statue of limitations or that if you go into hiding for a little while then you should be able to weasel out of justice? Tookie Williams and his rat lawyers tries to argue that he was too old to face the death penalty even though it was him and his rat lawyers that tried to weasel out of his punishment for 26 years.

Are you saying we should release all the inmates from prison, let people off of parole, remove remove sex offender's names including child molester's names from sex offender registries, clear all fines that anyone may have to pay, clear all warrants and let people off early from community service? The whole Jesus forgives doesn't just apply to scumbags who weaseled out of justice for the past 60 plus years.

The article makes it sound like there's some doubt about whether he committed any crimes of his own free will or not. He and the people who were in the camp both deserve for there to be a trial to determine his guilt or innocence.

Try him and if the evidence is strong enough to convict him, let him serve the appropriate sentence. Age has nothing to do with the law. However, I also agree that the Jews need to get the hell over it and stop using the Holocaust as a tantrum to get their own way, just like blacks need to stop using slavery for the same thing. It's over, move on.

Are you trying to surprise anybody here by posting the opinions of holocaust deniers? Because it's getting old. I mean how many times can you post the opinions of others and then try to distance yourself from them? Is that what you're going to do now? Please tell me it isn't. Because THAT I wouldn't see coming.

There is no statute of limitations on war crimes. He should be tried, and if found guilty, should receive the standard sentence. He should be shown as much mercy under the law as he showed his victims.
